I really don't think Wentz is getting enough credit for how much he has improved from his senior year of college to right now. He has improved TREMENDOUSLY in the last three years.
I think there's a large amount of revisionist history about how good Wentz actually was as a prospect.
Todd McShay had Wentz 30th in his December 16th mock:

Matt Miller didn't have Wentz as a first round pick in his January 4th mock:

Mel Kiper Jr. had Wentz 22nd in his January 14th mock:

Sports Illustrated had Wentz 15th in their February 10 mock:

The Big Lead didn't have Wentz as a first round pick in their February 22 mock:

Sports Illustrated once again had Wentz 15th in their March 1 mock:

The point is...
When the college games were finished being played, Wentz was at BEST considered a late first round pick. He was not a sure fire guaranteed top of the draft no-brainer selection like many people are saying now after the fact.
Now I readily admit that Wentz had a great Senior Bowl week and a great combine, but his actual game tape pretty clearly said late first/early second rounder. He was very obviously a late riser in the process.
