Anytime you can draft the next Chase Daniel #1 overall, you have to do it

:chuckle:

(Just kidding, of course)

Oh gosh! Chase Daniels Safari here we come!!! McCarron or Daniels.. hmmm...

*John Dorsey said KC had 3 QB's ahead of Kizer and that Kizer still has some mechanical issues to work on

*Said he sees growth in Corey Coleman

*When he was with KC he liked Shelton, Bitonio, Kirksey, Duke, Myles Garrett (super special) coming out of the draft

*He made the college scouts take the top 12 QB's in the draft and watch them as a group and then rank them. Gave them an idea of what he was looking for.

He was asked what QB prospect that he likes the most and he said " I will take the best available player "

Thanks for bringing up any position aside from quarterback. It's the biggest hole on the roster, but not the only one.

My immediate concern is that you picked two very talented backs, but they are two smaller change of pace backs. Neither one weighs over 200 pounds. If the Browns want to replace Crow, they need a back who will thrive on 1st and 2nd downs in the AFC North.

Hyde + one of the draft picks + Johnson. I don't favor any back playing specifically on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd down b/c you don't want to give away play calling, but I get your point. We need a shared workload approach, and critically, we need someone who can block for our QB, whether it's Cousins or Rosen.

Which two would you prefer? We will have Johnson (slot WR and 3rd down back) and Dayes. Outside of Barkley, which two would you take in the second round if ya had a chance

My favorite "scat back" who would need to be on a snap limit is Bryce Love, and it isn't close. When McCaffrey was at Stanford I saw zero drop off from one to another. A year ago, I thought Duke was coming off a disappointing year and I was ready to draft a new passing downs back this year. Admittedly Duke has been better than I expected, especially in pass pro.

I'd prefer either Georgia back or Kerryon Johnson from Auburn over Love though. I think they will be more durable and get yards after contact, which is Duke's weakness.

To me we already have a receiving back in Johnson. Dayes I have liked, but I was thinking get an every down style back and another one who compliments who we have in the second round. I mean I just choose Harris and Guice since they were the ones available via the spots in the Walter football mock draft. Which two backs available would compliment each other in this draft? (RB isn’t my area of knowledge) I mean I could see Love and Michel looking interesting as a combo with, but I am but going by what I am reading

This is a deep running back draft. I didn't think Kerryon Johnson was one of the top seven or eight backs in the draft most of the year, but he shredded Alabama and made me realize how good this class could be.

The one thing I'd like to see is a back who weighs more than 210 pounds, is durable and reads blocks well. College highlights of backs who weigh 200 pounds can seem electrifying, but then when they face an NFL defense they just can't tote the rock many plays and stay healthy. Dalvin Cook and Christian McCaffrey come to mind - high picks who can't take a beating at the line of scrimmage play after play.

I'd be incredibly interested in Bo Scarbrough, if we aren't able to land a Barkley/Guice/Chubb.

He would seem to be a nice compliment to Duke. Any thoughts on Scarbrough Keys? He didn't touch the ball much this season, but still averaged 5.1 YPC after 6.5 last year in the SEC.

I can't get over how much better Harris is for Alabama running the ball. It's hard to get excited for the guy who is clearly second best on his own team. I think Scarborough should stay in school another year to prove he is more well- rounded. I'd take Harris in a heartbeat.

Royce Freeman. Sleeper. Would be a great lead back in a RBC system.

I think I would probably hate Chase Daniel as a vet QB in the room. I would prefer to get a vet QB who's had more than 2 career starts and 78 career pas attempts. The veteran mentorship is oozing there.
Chase Daniel is nothing special.

Obviously, Cousins is option 1 for me. Then we don't even have to draft a quarterback.

Tyrod Taylor or Alex Smith would start, but you'd still need to draft someone--preferably at #1 and let him sit.

Anything worse than those 3, the #1 pick is probably playing, or at least competing with Kizer in camp. At that point, there are a bunch of shitty veteran names--I just want us to end up with someone to help in the classroom. You may mention a Bradford or Keenum--I, personally, hate them both and would rather not touch the money they are going to command this offseason given the fact that I don't want them starting for my team anyway.

I just don't want another year of 3 young guys like Kizer, Kessler, and Hogan. It's hard to grow that way--the coaches aren't always there.

Daniel, albeit limited starts, has been in the league awhile. He wouldn't play, he's there as a veteran. Nothing more. Nothing less. So, there's nothing special about him... more-so... he just isn't Hogan or Kessler. I don't care that it's him, I'm saying that it would make sense given Dorsey's past with him as an option--let's say, option 12--for example.

I want to see how he handles Boise. Freeman put up some big numbers on a bad team, I don't know if he always played well against the best defenses. Physically, he's got a lot to like.

It's a really good class, but I said the same thing last year and Sashimi waited until the last round to add a special teamer.
