2018 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

He's had a nice season, amassing a ton of tackles (127 - 75 Solo) from being on the field more than any other defensive player in the league. 3 FF, 1 INT, 2.5 Sacks contribute to an overall solid season. However he only has 5 TFL in all of those and gets exposed regularly in coverage. He's a hard worker who never gives up on the play, but has very clear physical limitations that limit his ceiling significantly.

We clearly have differing opinions on him, but I still see him as a great depth piece rather than an NFL starter. You may be looking for production (tackles) at the postion, while I am looking for more playmakers. I don't think he would be starting on many teams in the NFL if he weren't on one of the worst teams in NFL history. You can also say that about a lot of our players on both sides of the ball.

I didn't realize that Adam Schefter is an idiot.

You guys are going to be so upset. This is awesome.

Any Browns fan who has survived the past 30 years doesn't get upset like normal Earthlings. Browns fans nurse on the teet of disappointment for nourishment and sustenence.

I'm starting to come around full circle on the Browns drafting Sam Darnold at No. 1.*

*with the caveat of Hue not being here and a veteran capable of starting also being brought in.

Was on another site and saw someone unironically suggest bringing in Alex Smith as a bridge QB and drafting Kurt Benkert.

Fantastic.

Another bust we can invest 3 years in.

He’s certainly the highest upside pro-style QB in this class.

He has his warts, but they all do.

Rosen’s college teams don’t even win. I thought the QB was supposed to raise them all up like Rodgers does in Green Bay. That’s all everyone keeps telling me. It’s very rare to have a great QB on a shitty team, especially in college. He can’t even do it on the college level. Plus, where there’s smoke there’s fire. The dude is an asshat.

Mayfield has the complete skill package, we just wish he was bigger. He’s also fiery, but the kind that makes his teammates run through a wall for him. It’s going to come down to the combine. If he’s a shade under 6’1 and his hand size is at 9, I think he’s in play at first overall.

Darnold, it’s consistency. He’s had moments where he looks like the best QB prospect since Luck. He’s deadly accurate, has that big arm, and can tuck and run. A true 6’4, 220 prospect with the ability to make every throw. He’s had turnover issues this year, as his supporting cast is the worst USC has had in 8-9 years. However, he has them as PAC-12 champs playing in a New Years six bowl.

Arguments can be made for all three. However, I think the pre-draft process favors Darnold by a landslide. He has zero character issues, is seen as a leader, and his measurables are going to come out the best. When all is said and done, I think Sam works his way back up as top dog and the right to bust for the Cleveland Browns.

Mayfield has the best tape and most consistent high-level production of all the QBs by a WIDE margin, but I just don't believe John Dorsey or anyone else is going to draft a 6 foot quarterback No. 1 overall until it actually happens.

Rosen's injury history scares the shit out of me. Shoulder surgery and a concussion before reaching the NFL? And that's not even counting the other bumps and bruises that have caused him to miss snaps.

Rosen just seems to pass the eye test as the most NFL ready QB with the biggest upside and IMO he seems to be the only QB worthy of the top pick in the draft. As far as injuries, we would still have "Ironman Kizer" and hopefully a skilled veteran to step in.

Darnold just scares me for some reason. To me he looks like he could fall apart at the next level and become a turnover machine almost as bad as Kizer. I would rather have Mayfield than Darnold.

So I guess my choices would go Rosen/Mayfield/Darnold.

I hope so. Hue is gone, not even worried on that. Hopefully we get a coach who can develop Sam.
