2018 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
ESPN called it "the year of the quarterback" 2 weeks ago though

They've been known to be wrong from time to time.

This is just a bad situation. It is hard to tell how good Kizer can be because his receiving corps is probably the worst in the NFL right now.

The high-priced O-Line can't rush block (I realize they are new to playing together but by Week 4 there should be improvement) and the Defense was promising until injuries took out key personnel.

A young team like this, that lacks depth, simply can't suffer the injuries they've had and expect to win.

If Kizer makes some improvement over the year, I am of the opinion a playmaker like Barkley could make a huge difference and that they need to draft WR high and trade or sign another big name WR. Kizer needs weapons badly.

Our WR currently plays for The Giants. Hopefully his team stops bullshitting and gives him to us for a solid package of picks.

Draft Barkley and throw big money at a young WR in FA next off season.

Who do we want out of Deandre Hopkins, Sammy Watkins, Jarvis Landry, Allen Robinson?

Any of the 4 willing to come to Cleveland to be honest.

Throw big money at all 4, sign the first `1 or 2 that say yes.

This is a chicken and egg scenario.

You are not getting a good free agent to come here, fill needs until you have some form of consistent success to offer them.

We are as it stands the NFL's version of being exiled to Siberia. If you're some young talented stud player with no connections to the area why would you want to play here? I say this as someone who loves Cleveland to death but unlike the Tribe, Cavs and Ohio State? You are not going to be able to recruit them with any sort of success or talent.

There is no LeBron James. There is no Urban Meyer. The lore of Jim Brown, Paul Brown, The Kardiac Kids, The Dawg Pound...that's not there. Hasn't been there since 1995...the players that are playing in the league have no clue about any of that stuff.

This is what we have. Think of as the Jacksonville Jaguars with successful neighbors in town and with really bad weather.

NOW...I think the odds are good that you could get a few solid guards, tackles and the like...but those guys are not glamor positions. You're gonna have to go through the draft. Period.

OBJ is never coming to Cleveland.

Just like the best defender on the defending Super Bowl champs wouldn't right? Remember when he wouldn't re-sign?

OBJ doesn't have to "come" to Cleveland. He can't do shit if the Giants trade him.

If things keep headed in this direction, we may indeed have a different front office selecting these players in April.

That, to me, would be an enormous mistake, and would continue the cycle of failure that this team has been on since they came back. You can't just fire everyone and rebuild every two years. All that does is ensure that you never have a chance to fucking build anything at all. I don't care if we don't win a game this year. The only way we get better long-term is to stick to a front office for at least four or five years and give them a chance to revamp the team entirely. They've barely had a chance to do anything at all thus far. We're four games into their second season.

Luke Falk having a Browns like game right now...

Too bad, but this draft is shaping up to be one of the worst in the last decade. Just our luck we'd have 4 picks in first 2 rounds, and the top end talent is really quite average.

Outside of Darnold, Derwin James, and Saquon, there just isn't the top end talent we've seen in previous years.

Not too mention, at the positions we need most help...like WR, it's just a joke of a class.

We have 5 picks in the first 2 rounds.

Did you expect anything less?
