2018 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think Jackson will be fine in the correct situation.

Again. He plays like Vick, the key would be to put him in an offense that would be some sort of west coast/zone blocking hybrid.

I still don't know how to feel about Darnold.

Depending on the competence of the coaches he ends up with, I could definitely see Lamar Jackson having the earliest success of this rookie QB class.

I still have plenty of concerns with Deshaun Watson long term, but the way BOB played to his strengths is a good example of what a team can do to get electric production out of Lamar right out of the dates.

His mobility and elusiveness are so off the charts that they can make the passing game much easier for him than the pocket passers early on while he develops some of the nuances of his game that need refinement.

I'll pay close attention to where he ends up going.

Jackson has one thing no other QB in this class has, the immediate opportunity to adjust the way defenses play you.

You don't need him to be as good as Rosen, Darnold or Mayfield throwing the football.

Opens up your run game like crazy too. I mean you put him in the backfield with Duke, Michele, Hyde. Good Lawd. Two athletic safety blankets with Njoku and DeValve. The most talented WR in the game in Josh Gordon :cha (28): Corey Coleman and add a threat in the slot and it will be very hard for any defense to matchup with us.

Then he gets killed in a couple years if he can’t make strides as a pocket passer. No thanks, take Rosen and be done with this.

Oh, hell yeah.

I wasn't necessarily trying to construct that as a Jackson to Cleveland argument. But whoever gets him will immediately have the built-in advantage of a defense forced to sell out in run support. The amount of creativity one could imagine in an RPO-based attack with Jackson at the helm is limitless.

But we live in an old-school NFL, there are maybe a handful of coaches who could get the most out of his talents.

That was more directed at Jackson’s advocator Los

I don't really follow football much, but it seems like the consensus in this forum is to take Lamar Jackson #1 and Saquon Barkley at #4.

Is this correct, @AZ_? Seems like you've been spearheading this movement.

Tough, but fair.
