2018 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
1. Rosen--can play day 1. perfect form. only negative is can his body take the beating
2. Darnold--winner, brain and has the body, negative turnovers and form isn't perfect
3. Mayfield--winner, football brain, nice arm. negative is size and stupid off field
4. Allen-great arm and size. negative is he cant throw straight just like Kizer

You cant take 3/4 in the first 4 picks. 10 thru 20 you roll the dice on those 2.

If I was the Brown's I take 2 QBs with the 1 and 4.

That is an utterly terrible idea.

It makes no sense, from any angle, to take two QBs at 1 and 4.

From the amount of reps they get, to the utter lack of confidence you have in either QB. It would be a collosial embarrassment for the organization that cannot continue embarrassing themselves.

I don’t see why this is a difficult decision. Take the best QB in the field, it’s pretty damn apparent who that is.

The percent of QBs making it as s1st rounder is 50% and you wouldn't want to double your chances of getting it right because of someone confidence or embarrassment. The are 1 and 31. I would call that collosial embarrassment while drafting 2 QBs is out of the box thinking.

If both are good you trade one later.

If you take both, split their reps and time spent developing them, you reduce your chances of the 50 percent hit rate by 50 percent.

Leaving you with a 50-50 shot anyway.

You don't compound embarrassing play with embarrassing decisions on Draft Day, you'll once again be right back where you started.

Scout the talent, draft the right guy, and do it the right way.

Nothing else matters, the draft isn't about picking out of a hat and hoping a guy makes it. Good teams know how to judge talent.

I have to agree with AZ_ this would be a bad idea. Maybe in Madden you do this since you can easily sign/trade for the holes needing to be filled, but you cannot do that here in real life.

Also Kizer is still young and developing and we don’t need to have 3 really young QBs once again, we have to get a veteran QB, whether a starter or not, we need someone else here to help develop the young guys.

I don’t think we can come away without at least McCarron on this roster. He at least can properly run the offense likely in place.

You two aren’t allowed to agree. It’s against nature.

you guys are worried about reps and the Brown's are gonna sign a bridge QB who is gonna get the reps next year over the guy who they draft. That guy who backed up Brady for 5 years sure didn't get enough reps to play in the NFL or be worth anything in a trade. great argument guys. I'm sold your right. Man I'm glad New England didn't trade with us. Plus guys on rookie contracts are so hard to trade because of the all the money they make.

Every argument you made against drafting 2 guys were wrong or about someone's feelings.

You have scouts. You let them do their jobs. You take the best QB in the draft #1 and you pour every resource you have into making him great.

Under no circumstance do you take two QB’s in the top 5.

We have too many other needs with a shot to fill some of them with difference makers.

When you first posted, I thought you were joking. I didn’t even respond.

However, now that I see we are talking about this in every goddam thread.... it feels a lot like trolling.

Only an extremely undereducated person would actually entertain the idea of picking at both 1 and 4.

Therefore, please keep it to yourself before Jimmy Haslam gets wind of it and does it.

I don’t think I have ever seen the term undereducated in a forum before.
Interesting.
But yes, absolutely take the QB #1 and do everything humanly possible to help him.
The Cali kid is right there, it’s obvious, take him and focus on #4 now.

So now you’re drafting two guys in the top 5, still taking on a QB bridge contract, playing neither of the top 5 picks, developing them with split reps among backups and just hoping for the best?

Hard pass.

Just be better as assessing talent, it’s not that hard. Browns fans appear to have snapped a bit in terms of what a rational path forward looks like.

Because that ain’t it.
