2018 NBA Draft - June 21

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'd like to get Jalen Brunson in here with a 2nd round pick, or as an undrafted FA. I think he has a future in this league. Could be Andre Miller with a jumper.

We don't have a 2nd and we can't buy one cause we paid the Kings with the remaining cash for some reason.

Any 2nd round would have been great in this draft.

Bridges with 5 threes and 22 2nd half points. Dude is automatic from deep.

Sexton has played well but his team is getting dismantled by Villanova (7/14 for 17 points)

Sexton gets a layup on Bridges on the fast break then calls him a bitch lol. He got a tech for that but Bridges has been defending him all game and there has been a few shoves, elbows and word exchanged.

Duke continue with their bullshit Zone. Not only is it boring and quite unfair for a team like Duke to defend like this, it also fucks the top prospects on Duke.

Coach K literally fucks them at the next level as this really isn't basketball. I have seen good defensive big man in College that defended mostly in Zone completely flop at the next level. For a big man to just stand inside the lane and wait to contest shots is cancer for the development of a big. They are overwhelmed once they come to the NBA.

How long before somebody figures out how to attack Dukes zone?

Hopefully we get a shot at Ayton, Porter, Bagley or M. Bridges. So many great prospects in this draft.

I just don't see many PFs stopping Bagley at the next level.

He has a great hook shot and touch around the rim. He kinda plays bully ball and one of my only concerns is his frame and how he would handle the stronger players with the stronger base. Would he be able to get the ball deep and dig in? Wonder how is frame is going to fill out. But once he gets the ball deep, it's pretty much over even if he misses because of his second jump.

Would he be able to dominate inside against Centers? I'm really skeptical about that right now. Obviously playing PF would make the floor a bit crowded without a center that is able to space the floor and playing as a Center limits his physical advantage and rebounding advantage.

I believe his position is a PF regardless of his shooting range though atleast at the moment. He needs to have a size advantage and physical advantage against his matchup to truly shine. He is just not quick enough with the ball to be worth it against centers. Obviously his ability to roll and his leaping also make him a better matchup against the trend that is now stretch PFs.

Defensively is where the issue lies, but it's not a deal breaker.

Watching how Julius Randle just dominates the game physically makes me a real believer in Bagley...at least offensively.

In some ways he's the modern ZBo with his inside touch and physical style. Just less bulky for the modern game

Bagley reminds me of pre-injury Amar'e

Agree with SDP with Bagley/Randle. I think Randle is the closest thing to him that's currently in the NBA. Bagley with more athleticism, but Randle the better defender. Kind of interesting that I'm lower on Bagley than most, and the same is true for Randle when he came into the NBA and during his first couple of years lol.

But this year I've done a complete 180 on Randle. If you put him on a team with a high end primary ball handler then he'd be pretty unstoppable in the P&R. I know there's been flashes of it, but I don't buy into Bagley's quick decision making being at a super high level. Not at Randle's level right now.

And also we've not seen Randle in the playoffs yet. That's one of my main concerns with Bagley, is how teams will attack him when they specifically game plan for him. That's when you get into the conversation of how Bagley/Randle need certain types of players around them to hide their weaknesses. It becomes a game of "if's" that I never get comfortable with. But it's also worth pointing out that I was a little lower on Lauri Markkanen because I probably overvalued this sort of thing. I think I've brought it up in here before, but I expected Markkanen's offensive abilities to be negated against a switch-heavy defense, something he'll see a ton of in the playoffs. I still expect that to be the case, and he is playing next to a guy that can hide a ton of his weaknesses (Lopez)
