2018 NBA Draft - June 21

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
In some ways he's the modern ZBo with his inside touch and physical style. Just less bulky for the modern game

With the spaced out floor I just don't see how he doesn't get many second scoring opportunities on every touch he gets.

Against a switch he would dominate smaller guys so it opens up the all offense for the team as well.

His bust rate is just very low offensively. Defensively, if you can find a center that can defend the rim and shoot threes then you are golden, and even then it's really not s deal breaker. Nowadays, shooting bigs are everywhere, while players like him and defenders that can deal with that type of skill set are scarce. Heck, Dedmon learned how to shoot out of nowhere.

GSW don't have a real stretch 4 and they are just fine. Worry about yout perimeter shooting first.

Very encouraging that Bagley seems to produce at a high level offensively regardless of how good of a defense he's facing and regardless of what gameplan they try against him. As far as individual players go, he's probably the closest thing to unstoppable in college basketball right now.

Agree with SDP with Bagley/Randle. I think Randle is the closest thing to him that's currently in the NBA. Bagley with more athleticism, but Randle the better defender. Kind of interesting that I'm lower on Bagley than most, and the same is true for Randle when he came into the NBA and during his first couple of years lol.

But this year I've done a complete 180 on Randle. If you put him on a team with a high end primary ball handler then he'd be pretty unstoppable in the P&R. I know there's been flashes of it, but I don't buy into Bagley's quick decision making being at a super high level. Not at Randle's level right now.

And also we've not seen Randle in the playoffs yet. That's one of my main concerns with Bagley, is how teams will attack him when they specifically game plan for him. That's when you get into the conversation of how Bagley/Randle need certain types of players around them to hide their weaknesses. It becomes a game of "if's" that I never get comfortable with. But it's also worth pointing out that I was a little lower on Lauri Markkanen because I probably overvalued this sort of thing. I think I've brought it up in here before, but I expected Markkanen's offensive abilities to be negated against a switch-heavy defense, something he'll see a ton of in the playoffs. I still expect that to be the case, and he is playing next to a guy that can hide a ton of his weaknesses (Lopez)

Bagley isn't as strong and isn't the type of passer yet. But yeah, he is definitely my comparison.

To neutralize Randle I think you need to put a strong Center on him. Never switch and then double team him because he scores/team scores st a very high ppp when he is doubled. Have to play him straight up against length and strength.

Diallo is CRAZY athletic, and he's got a lot of confidence. I like him.

I have not been following this thread recently but I’m sure Bagley has been a topic of discussion of late. It’s like he’s playing with more passion or something. He looks fucking amazing

I still question wether Bagley can be the type of player you can count on to actually win you games. He is too bad on defense and I still wonder if he will be able to create good looks for himself against NBA players. In a situation where he's got a lot of floor spacers on the floor with him to create room in the paint I can see it, but that's not a given on an NBA team, especially not the ones who will be picking in the lottery. If he was better at attacking the basket off the dribble and use that gazelle-like speed in the half court or knock down a jump shot on a somewhat consistent basis I would feel much better about him, but as it stands I just don't know that I trust him to be able to play winning basketball.

A cant miss pick is Shai Gilgeous Alexander. We have to get him some how.

Don't know what his ceiling is, but he is going to be a fine player in this league. He is too cerebral not to be.

I'm torn on Bagley.

On one hand, I recognize that he's not a good defender and he has an iffy jumper. Those two things combined seem like a death knell for modern bigs in the current NBA landscape.

That said...

The kid plays so damn hard. His motor is outstanding, he's a relentless rebounder and he's a great finisher. I think he's gotten picked apart so much this season that he's actually a little underrated.

Are you watching this game? Good lord...if his teammates were hitting a few more shots and refs weren't screwing him over, he might have a 25 point triple double right now.

Nope... it's 4 am... watched enough NCAA for the day. It's a slow death...
