2018 NBA Draft - June 21

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The best thing about that entire clip is how Izzo is right on Jaren's ass to keep him honest, and even if that may have deflated him a bit at the moment, it's shit like that that is going to help him at the next level. Don't get too caught up in feeling yourself, keep your eyes on the prize, play the right way and do all the little things. Izzo is coaching this kid up to be fucking amazing basketball player and you can tell by watching the games that Jackson is just sucking it all up like a damn sponge.

Would love to have Izzo and Jarren next year. LOL.

I still remember there being talks of Gilbert trying to get him to sign on as Head Coach back in 2010, and one of the perks being his own private jet. what a clusterfuck that year was.

If you'd told me a few months ago that 31 points, 8 boards, and 2 blocks from Bridges, 24 points, 12 boards, 2 steals, and 3 blocks from Bamba would be afterthoughts on a Monday night of college basketball...

Again, goes to show how gruelling this years draft class is. There are so many monsters up for grabs that shit just gets lost in the shuffle. Bamba especially looked really friggin' good last night. He was assertive and physical in the post and seemed to work out of there with a much improved sense of purpose and his 3 pointer looked nice and smooth. Defensively it was just further affirmation of how game changing he can be.

He is so damn quick and coordinated with his hands, I have no idea how he does it. He gets deflections and pick pockets players constantly in a way that I can't remember ever really seeing before from such a big guy. I just wish he had a bit more fire in his belly at this point. He seems very meassured and composed to the point where it almost seems detrimental and you wonder how bad he really wants it.

That's a bit much IMO.

Let the kid have his fucking moment after that play. I understand coaching like that is necessary with certain guys that need to be coached hard or respond to it, but give me a break. To go after him like that after that play is a bit much and just self-fulfilment on Izzo's part to me. He's a great coach though overall and is probably less of a blow-hard as your average NCAA basketball coach.

It kind of ruined the actual play for me lol. Rant over lol.

If you can get Bamba you have to do it. He is like Drummond in the fact that he is going to murder people when he gets some space and bulks up a little.

Unlike Drummond, he can shoot.

Yeah he is really intriguing. I really meant that Drummond looked not nearly as good in college as the NBA. I think Bamba will have a similar experience because he will have more room to operate. If he falls to the Cavs I want him pretty bad. We haven't drafted a center since Zeller!

Hey look, Trae Young isn't jacking up idiotic 35-footers, and OU is picking apart Kansas.

No shortage of centers in this draft with Jackson, Ayton, Bamba, and the wildly underrated Wendell Carter Jr. If we want a center, there's almost certainly going to be a great option on the board.

Lol I was really trying to make sense of saying their games were comparable, but now I see what you mean lol.

I think people are overrating Bamba's offensive struggles, including focusing largely on his post game or not demanding the ball. He will get next to zero post touches in the NBA, it's meaningless. All he has to do is finish around the rim and be a rim roller. And who knows, maybe he becomes a pick and pop threat in time.

I've thought pretty much through this whole NCAA season that Bamba would get picked top 5 regardless as someone would just fall in love with his measurements. But you've made me realize that that may not be the case when you look at how Drummond fell as well despite his insane (though much different) tools.

To be fair, Jackson had just made a lazy closeout that resulted in a 3 pointer the previous possession, the kind of play He can't really excuse with his length and quickness. To Jackson's credit, after the dunk he went down on the other end and had another block and basically mounted MSU's most significant run of the game.

You're right though, it would've been better if Izzo had tried to high five him on the side line, lol.

Lol yeah, watching all this college basketball is starting to wear on me. D1 NCAA Basketball coaches are a different breed lmao.

Ive had problems with OKC defensive rebounding for a long time, but this is just inexcusable at this point. They are probably the worst defensive rebounding team I have ever seen. They give up 2 possessions on every trip... they don't box out at all. They can be so so much better if they rebounded better.

Young has to matters into his own hands as well... he just can't rely on these fools.
