Any directions you have the Indians going in?
I get that reliever is a big concern, and I want the pen fixed first, but any chance Adam Jones is available? Any idea what he'd cost?
@AZ_ ?
They’ve been all over relievers, it seems. Not sure if they’ll make an attempt at another outfielder, but that seems more like a waiver trade than anything else later on in August as they see a timeline on Chisenhall.
I’m sure Jones will be available, the orioles would be absolutely insane not to blow that whole thing up at this point.
2.9 !!2.9 percent walk rate for AJ this year.
Giving no fucks on a non contender
How would we re-arrange our lineup then?
Firstly, Machado has been one to whine about not playing SS. Obviously we don't take Lindor out of that position, and 3B is the only other position that Machado played. Ramirez has put up great defensive metrics at 3B while still being good a 2B and not so much at OF, and Kipnis was horrible in CF.
So would this mean that Kipnis gets traded/bumped out? Kipnis as an every day player is above replacement in value. Guyer platoons struggle to do that and take up 2 roster spots.
Diamondbacks would be taking SS and plugging someone much superior into that position, and it would also move Ahmed into a utility role which would upgrade that slot in turn. If Machado was an OF I'd be bidding significantly higher.
I'd rather go with the multi-yeared high powered reliever, who may not even be cheaper than Machado.
Kipnis...in Right Field? If you deal for Machado, you either salary dump Kipnis somewhere or move him to RF.
SS-Lindor
LF-Brantley
2B-Ramirez
3B-Machado
DH-Encarnacion
1B-Alonso
RF-Kipnis/Naquin/Guyer
C-Gomes
CF-Zimmer/Naquin
You also ask the Orioles to throw in at least one RP if you're giving up Mejia.
End the Machado talk right now.
He stated he will NOT be switching positions.
If he has zero interest in switching spots to be on a contender, than we should have ZERO interest in him.Machado is the 2018 version of Lucroy. Don't want. Try and get bullpen help than another bat imho
