I really find this odd. Must be a cap decision. I say that because, i am unimpressed with the Hammers windup.....meaning at times he looked to take an extra step b4 he actually punted. And Colquitt was good at pinning teams. Directional kicking, something we didn't really get to see the hammer doing.
Hoping this is something the young lad can grow on

Led the team in ST tackles this preseason as a punter. Legend. Just hope he can tackle real nfl guys.

I suspect this team doesn't expect to do a lot of punting from places on the field where directional punts are important.
Max distance when pinned deep, and better coverage on punts, may be more valuable.

I might like him more than most as a good rotational player but good for him.
Also, I’m inclined to think in year’s last thst a decent amount of these players make the roster — even become regular starters. Times have changed I think.
