According to Aaron Rodgers, Justin McCray got work in as a backup at tackle as well as the interior in 2017:

“I’m really proud of him, the way he stepped up,” quarterback Aaron Rodgers said last year “He played a number of different positions. We’ve worked him at all five positions at different points, whether it’s starting a game or playing a game or practice. That’s a testament to him and his approach.”

...So the Browns get positional flexibility with McCray, not just another OG.

why 5 safeties...

I think you meant six safeties.

I didn't expect Juston Burris to make the team, but I also didn't know they would expose Phillip Gaines to stash him on the injured list. Burris played very well in the preseason, especially in blitz packages. He also is a converted cornerback with slot as well as outside experience, so the coverage skills in man and off coverage are there. He was a former 4th round pick of the Jets. He isn't a nobody. Plus, with a lot of looks using three safeties on the field at once, there is justification for depth.

Justin McCray is a very good trade. He is an average starter at all 3 interior positions. He is better than Kush imo, and Kush is average too.

McCray is most likely your RG starter by week 3, but even if not, you just now added depth to 3 positions where you are not worried if he has to start. Sometimes on the OL depth is more important than anything else as OL is rough and often injured only Joe Thomas disagrees, lol.

Titans QB play has been notoriously awful. Sometimes it's really hard to determine how good a receiver is, outside the best in the game, when they're paired up with a shitty QB like Mariota.

Here's what stands out to me: Titans have been among the least pass-happy offenses in the league in recent years. Since Mariota entered the league, the Titans have 1,988 pass attempts, one of only two teams below 2,000 (the Bills are at 1,914).

Part of that is the lack of receiving weapons. Davis is finally emerging, but for a few years Mariota was throwing to Delanie Walker and a busload of chumps. Tajae Sharpe and Eric Decker don't strike fear into a defense. Still, they have coaches who think run first, run second, then maybe pass third... but the pass might just be a bubble screen.

If Taylor was going to emerge as a real weapon, I thought this would be the year. Instead he just got traded. That isn't the most encouraging sign. What I really would like to know is the value of pick the Browns gave up.

I can't imagine that they keep 10 O-linemen. My guess is they will cut 1 or 2 of them and find either another WR or a H-back. Maybe they have a deal to bring back Braxton, Willies, or Devalve at the end of the week.

I was at the game against the Lions and Willies came up limp towards the end. Might have cost him. Either way I think they're putting a premium on speed at the WR position.
