2019 Browns Off Season/Roster Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Texans offensive line was the target of a lot of frustration from the fan base. Lamm was very uneven as a starting right tackle, and I think it's a good move to consider him a backup going forward. The Browns do have one of the most respected offensive line coaches in the NFL, so maybe Lamm hasn't played his best football yet.

For those into PFF grades, both Hubbard and Lamm graded almost identical with Hubbard starting all 16 games, at Lamm starting 13. Its depth, and we might only keep 2 of 3 after camp of Harrison, Hubbard and Lamm depending on who we draft and how their camp goes.

We now have 4 tackles that have started in the NFL, none of them will make us forget Joe, but depth is a good thing.

Competition for Hubbard, started 13 games at RT last year for Houston.
I don't think I see him beating out Hubbard. Dorsey only kept 3 OTs on the 53 last year, seems to me his best shot at making it is looking better at swing tackle than Harrison.

I will be the first to admit that, when I watched Houston last year, I was not paying attention to their RT. With that said...

@Randolphkeys is right - as far as PFF grades go, Lamm is incredibly inconsistent. In the three straight games against the Browns, Colts, and Jets, Lamm ranked as one of the three best pass blocking RT in the NFL. But during the games against Buffalo, Tennessee, and Miami, Lamm was straight middle-of-the-pack as a pass blocker.

Again, and this is just from PFF, so I am liable to be wrong, but Lamm's big weakness seems to be run blocking. There was only one week all season where he ranked as an above average run blocker, four weeks where he ranked as below average, and one week as poor.

3.5 per a year for Lamm, Hubbard costs us 7 million this year.

If they are close and Dorsey only wants to keep 3 tackles and is still high on Harrison, then Hubbard is gone.

If we keep 4 this year, then its only a competition for a starting spot, not roster spot, we shall see.

Either way Lamm is a solid depth signing! I still hope we bring in talent through the draft; but if we dont we have 2 guys who started for us last year at LT and two experienced RTs. We may not have a top guy, but 4 guys who can play and Kitchens has shown he can overcome a weakness on the OLine if need be

It was me, dude. Give it a day or two to see if the issue of credit is addressed, but if not...you win.

No big deal, make sure you give credit to yourself so you get the add free, I don't mind the adds as it creates some revenue for this website and I don't use this on my mobile phone, its my work time waiting for a call entertainment.

With Kush and Corbett both having some center experience in the worst case scenario of a Tretter injury, I could see three reserve OL being Harrison, Lamm, and Kush, with Lamm/Harrision jostling each week over who is one of the 7 active gameday OL.
