2019 Browns Off Season/Roster Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
For those into PFF grades, both Hubbard and Lamm graded almost identical with Hubbard starting all 16 games, at Lamm starting 13. Its depth, and we might only keep 2 of 3 after camp of Harrison, Hubbard and Lamm depending on who we draft and how their camp goes.

We now have 4 tackles that have started in the NFL, none of them will make us forget Joe, but depth is a good thing.

I just heard Joe hasn’t ruled coming out of retirement out yet. I doubt it happens, but that would make Hubbard very expendable.

I am not sure Robinson is a right guard to be honest, and outside of using weapons, he isn't beating out Joe.

Point is it makes Robinson allot more expandable than Hubbard if the .0001% chance of Joe returning happens.

This is the risk you run when you load up on players with questionable pasts. Hopefully we get lucky and the guys we drafted/signed get it together.

Homerun trades: Vernon and ODB

So free agents with high value, Hunt and Richardon

Depth free agents not on team Kush, ;Lamm, Harris, Thomas, Strong

Retained free agents, Gaines, Ray-Ray, Robinson, Davis.

So we only retained one starter from free agency in Robinson and a prove it deal. We kept 3 more on team friendly depth deals, and signed 5 players for depth, only possibly Lamm will start and Harris should see some time as a blocking tight end, others are depth.

Signed 2 sort of starters, obviously Richardson starts day 1, but Hunt is as good of a starter as he should play 50%+ of the snaps as I am sure we will do many 2 rb sets with him and Chub

Then we added 2 high end pro bowl level players via trade.

You look at what he has done, only made 1 big free agent acquisition, used trades to add pro bowl talent, and really only used free agency to add depth outside of Richardson and that is the exact blue print on how to build a team without going into cap hell (dan Snyder should read from this book)

Very impressive what Dorsey has done, like to see if we can find 2 or 3 quality players that can contribute from day one in our much smaller draft this year. Well done so far though.

I'm not saying I want to trade Duke Johnson. I'm fine with keeping him, but I like the two prospects we have to get a few carries behind Chubb for 8 weeks.

Also, how many carries did Duke Johnson get in the 2 wins against Bengals, win against the Panthers and win against Denver?

Bengals 1: 2 carries
Bengals 2: 2 carries
Panthers: 2 carries
Broncos: 4 carries

Now I get the argument he's a weapon in the passing game but with Jarvis, Odell, Callaway, Higgins(assuming) and the other depth guys we have it just isn't likely he would see many targets.

No reason to give him away, he's a productive player but trading him isn't a huge deal to me.
