2019 Browns Off Season/Roster Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Maybe Lamar Jackson learns how to pass thus making him some even deadlier version of Michael Vick meets John Elway meets Steve Young.
.

The track record for bad passers becoming good passers is....not good.

Ravens will give him every shot, but it will be a clear failed experiment within 2 years.

Catching up on this thread...

I’m not really worried about re-signing our key guys at all. You can always find ways to open cap room in the NFL.

It is going to fucking SUCK when these guys contracts start coming up and we gotta pay them....

I thought you were supposedly an accountant.
Accountants have trouble projecting cashflows and looking at future scenarios. They just obsess over how to define things that have already happened and setting up imaginary deferral assets

Solomon Thomas being shopped, reportedly.

Cap numbers of about 3mil and 4mil the next 2 years if dealt. SF would eat 9mil if traded. I am guess if they're going to eat that much, they'd want a good pick. But if not, he'd be solid depth.
Thank God for Crowell’s fumble against the Steelers that landed us Myles

Andy Benoit giving the Browns’ draft a C- while loving the Buccaneers’ draft and liking Houston’s and Atlanta’s suggests that his grade is silly.

I really like Andy... but some of his rankings are weird. He also thought that Jacoby Brissett could replace Russell Wilson, so...

Browns has a solid draft. Not a great one. They did not have a first round pick, “reached on a few guys,” and did not get any DTs nor many offensive players.

I’d give it a B/B+. Imo they definitely made the most of their situation.

That's really what I'm starting to think

It's not impossible to think their defense and perhaps some of the weapons could mask any sort of faults he has, but it also feels like he's rather one dimensional atm.

I for some reason am getting a "Kordell Stewart"-vibe in that realm.

I don't know...if you gave a ravens fan a choice between him, darnold or mayfield? I don't know if they would take him again. One can go "BUT HE MADE THE PLAYOFFS", but that's really not looking at the full context of that run.

AB dies on the hills of his opinions because he sees them as absolute.
