2019 Cavs

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Beverly would be a great pick up with or without Lebron
Anyone know if he has any years left on his contract?

He has a team option for 2018-2019. If we have an asset to give up and the clippers are questioning picking up his option because they have so many guards, we better offer it up before the date his option needs to be picked up. Like I said the Kyrie trade exception fits perfectly to get Beverley, they might want the roster spot more than another player.

Beverly would be a good start. Defense with attitude.

Dont see the point of acquiring Beverly now if it involves positive assets. Our PG rotation is set.

Dumping our bad contracts to free cap space is much more important than wasting positive assets to acquire Beverly.

I just don't think it will take much. Even if they let Avery Bradley walk, they will have 8 or 9 guards on their roster. They just need to clear some of them for roster balance. It might just take a 2nd round pick to get him.

Maybe we can pick up an asset thru other trades to be able to get Beverley. Even a straight Korver for Beverley deal would make sense for them because Korver could get playing time in other positions and it should allow them to get an asset at the deadline for him.

If they are thinking about not picking up his option, the almost worthless Miami 2nd round pick is worth the gamble for the clippers to take especially if we are using the Kyrie trade exception to get Beverley.

If/when LeBron leaves, the Cavs are not going to have any interest in guys like Beverley. They need to enter tank mode to keep the ATL pick (top 10 protected). RJ Barret should be their focus come Mid July... With the new changes to the lottery, they just have to be worst 3 to have an equal shot at the #1 pick, though it's 11% less of a chance then it was. Shouldn't be too hard with this roster.

Like many I like him as well ... But we would then be at 8 guards not counting Mathias I think
So?! Beverly would be one of the best among them, so who cares?! If you can get him, you do so asap!

I'm not sure I agree. It depends on which assets it costs us, and how long LBJ signs for.

Especially when our 3 expirings are all guards. We would be basically replacing Hill with Beverley who is getting paid a quarter of what Hill is. We can pay Beverley market value after this year which is probably 12-14 million a year.

I'd rather overpay for Kawhi.

Better to have an unfilled out team with another top-tier talent than a filled out team with just Lebron.

If you got Beverley, it could help with going after Kawhi. We could use Hill to take on a bad contract with an asset from a 3rd team to flip as part of the package for Kawhi. Having players on team friendly deals makes it easier to take on bad contracts to gain assets.
