2019 Cavs

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It would be great if we could pull off a big deal without sacrificing Love or Sexton. This deal works salary wise and might be realistic for all parties. There might need to be some picks moved around but below are the main assets.

Cavs trade JR, TT, Clarkson, Cedi and receive CJ McCollum and Chandler Parsons.

Memphis trades Marc Gasol and Chandler Parsons and receive TT, Clarkson and Evan Turner.

Blazers trade McCollum and Evan Turner and receive Marc Gasol, Cedi and JR Smith.

I think Memphis considers this because they rid themselves of Parsons contract (which they are actively trying to do), and get much younger with TT, Clarkson and Turner. They have to sacrafic Gasol to move Parsons contract, but that coupled with the young assets they get in return is worth it.

I think the Blazers consider this deal because it balances their roster by bringing in an all-star center that contributes on both ends of the floor. They also can plug JR into their SG hole and they add a young and promising Cedi. I think this deal makes them better.

We can them immediately buy out Parsons to free up money and make a run at Cousins.

Starters: Hill, McCollum, LBJ, Love, Cousins

Bench: Sexton, Hood, Korver, Green, Nance, Anti Z

That’s a fully rebuilt team that can beat the warriors with only 1 trade and one signing.

Koby and Ty kept talking about How exciting our youth are and that for the first time in several years they have to develop players. They also talked about the last moves being made with long term success in mind. It’s highly unlikely they trade Sexton, Cedi, Zizic or Nance. I think they also really value Hood and said the finals run last year was very valuable for getting these young guys experience. Don’t think they’ll mortgage the future for any 1 year rentals but I’d expect some minor moves with Hill, Jr and TT possibly getting moved and then hopefully a decent player with the mid level. I really think the front office is tired of being held hostage every year by Lebron and are more planning for the future. Now it’s up to Lebron to decide if these guys can learn from this year and be even better next year. I really think they can be much improved next season just with continuity and less JR and TT. I know everyone is so down on JC and Hood but Clarkson was a great 6th man and Hood was a rising almost allstar(saw several current and former players say that) with the Jazz.

Sexton/Clarkson
Hood/Cedi/Korver
Lebron
Love
Zizic/Nance

Add a couple players from trades and possibly an Avery Bradley or JJ Reddick. Is that enough for Lebron to stay, probably not but i just don’t really see him wanting to start over in his 3rd different city.

Holy hell is that an ugly lineup. I know I'm in the minority but I'd almost would rather Lebron just left at this point- he gave us our one ring and we will forever be grateful. I do not see this team shaping up into anything that can withstand the onslaught of GS. Start the rebuild, and hopefully by the time we are good again GS dynasty is over. By that time LBJ will be retired and back in Cleveland to be part owner, instilling everything he learned into our new team.

I know it sounds like I am taking what we have for granted, but getting crushed every finals by GS is getting old. It happened 2 years ago even WITH LBJ, Kyrie, and Love.

I mean, CJ McCollum, Kemba Walker... These guys are good but will just not be enough against prime Steph, Kev, Klay, and Draymond.

I disagree that about wanting LBJ to leave- can’t ever get behind that comment.
The FO as always with LBJ, is performing a balancing act. They’re hell bent on not repeating the 2010 disaster in terms of the roster, but are also mindful of LBJ and his immense value.
Until LBJ makes up his mind, they have to value their younger assets. Concurrently, Altman likely has moves out there for a one year LBJ resign and also a longer term scenario. It’s the multi plane reality of being a serious continuous contender for the King. No other franchise does as much financially for him, and he knows it.
For LBJ, they need a domino to fall- PG the most likely. If he can recruit a guy here, Koby will jump on it. Maybe LBJ just resigns for a year, and they make a move at the break with JR and Hill as expirings.
I always thought LBJ would stay put for at least one more year- there really isn’t another scenario that fits his needs at his age and stage in his career.

I'm interested in helping out Atlanta and taking on Bazemore and bring a pick and Dedmon (My guess is Hill is out, not sure what else would go). I'm really interested in Patrick Beverly and last year the Clippers were interested in Tristan and makes DeAndre Jordan even more expendable for them.

Beverly Sexton Clarkson
Bazemore Hood Korver
James Cedi (subs everywhere)
Love
Dedmon Nance Zizic

I think this could be realistic moves. Maybe sign a guy like Rudy Gay. Look for a star near the deadline to put us over the top.

We could absorb Beverley into the Kyrie trade exception. If Atlanta provided the assets like a pair of second round picks with Bazemore to get Beverley, it could easily work for all sides.

I also think Korver and a 2nd round pick for Beverley would work too.

Lolwut? These two statements contradict each other. Unless since we're entering the 2018-19 season you're counting 2017 as 2 years ago instead of 2016.

Semantics man. You know what I meant. 2017. 2 seasons ago.

I 'm a homer but I think we should go after Hezonja. He could be our replacement for JR as everyone who leaves Orlando prospers.

That and he can guard the 2, 3, 4, he 's athletic, he has an inconsistent jumper that he will improve with PT and confidence.

Hill Hill
Hezonja. Çedi
LeBron OR Hezonja
Green LeBron
Thompson Nance

Just some lineups in which he could play 3&D and make cuts, nothing major until he proves himself.

Walker
Batum
George
Lebron
Nance
Zizic
Bridges(Miles)
Hill
Hood
Green

I think that team could challenge the Warriors, especially with Steph and Durant aging a bit with multiple titles while we get 2 new fresh guys that never have won one before. Smaller, but with 2 solid bigs and who knows what else signs. Plenty of scoring potential. I doubt it happens though despite we know Dan will pay for it(his one saving grace). It was just a dream, just a dream...........

These are the kind of realistic moves we need to be thinking about! Honestly, between the development of Sexton, Cedi, Zizic, Nance and the improved defense of a Beverly, Bazemore, Dedmon ...you could be looking at another trip to the finals with LBJ in the mix.

I want moves made prior to the season starting so we have a full season to develop chemistry, rotations, good habits, etc. No more trying to save the season in desperation at the deadline. Make these marginal moves now to improve our defense and bring in a new coach, then I think Bron stays!!

What the hell. Why would Portland trade a borderline all star/superstar for the shit show that we have starting with JR?

Realistically we need to expect giving up future picks + Cedi and I doubt that’s enough for Kemba/CJ

I honestly don’t know what we can do trade-wise that makes us better. Obviously, we have to do something to keep Bron here..

I haven't looked at the numbers or anything on these players. Just an example of how we could be very competitive with the warriors and not bring in a superstar. Even if we could replace loves slot with someone that could at least be a neutral against the warriors who knows. If Lebron would've had a little help with scoring and our defense was improved we could've been 2-2 going to game 4. Then with a different outlook and a hand that wasn't hitting things never can tell
