2019 Cavs

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I would be pretty happy if we could land Jordan without giving up Nance. If we could land Jordan, then Walker and Batum I believe that team can have a realistic shot at winning it all.

We're not giving up our youth. Unless you can get Kemba for expirings it aint happening.

The last thing I want to do is watch our charity stripe percentage go down even further. Bugs the shit out of me as is, and thank God LeBron worked on it last year and finally got his % to a respectable level, but with Deandre, that % falls like the Challenger

lol, I could give a shit about the charity swipe. As long as our defense drastically improves, im willing to give up a few free bunnies.

Points are points. Games that are decided by less than ten and then you look at the stats and see we shot 60% from the line...those equal losses. There have been serious issues with the "Charity swipe" during playoff series with this team. "Lol, I could give a shit about the charity swipe", was the mentality that caused our shitty free throw percentage to begin with. Actually, a bit further, fundamental basketball, at times, has been our downfall.

We’re talking about giving up TT (and his gross contract) for DJ. Think of how many more points we’d score since DJ can actually finish around the rim compared to TT. Think of how many points we’d prevent since DJ is a taller, better defensive rebounder and rim protector. Losing TT’s free throw percentage for DJ’s is not that big of a loss anyway. But honestly getting rid of TT and his contract is what excites me most about this type of trade.

..And on the wrong side of 30 in a month.
Although, I really dislike TT. If we aren't getting rid of youngsters that could be on the ascension for players a year or two past their prime, I'd be happy, but I don't see it.

I think our best bet might be to get a Kemba level star before the season starts and then possibly target an addition around the trade deadline. I think JR and Hill are the best salary fillers for an initial deal, and then TT for the later one.

Right now, TT has 2 years left on his deal and people might wonder about his value. If he can play the first half of next season at the level he finished in the playoffs, then by the trade deadline he'll be a guy who has some value as a player and has just over a year on his contract remaining.

I like the idea of getting Kemba if we don't have to give up Sexton, Love, or Cedi. I'm not sure if that can happen though. Personally the more I think about it, the player I'd go after is Bledsoe.

After listening to Zack Lowe's podcast last night, I think a 3 way trade with the Cavs, Atlanta, and the Bucks makes sense. We give up Hill to Atlanta, we get Bledsoe and Delly, and The Bucks get Schroeder.

This makes sense for all side since Atlanta really wants to move off of Schroeders contract without giving up assets which Zack Lowe pointed out. The Bucks move off of Dellys contract which frees up cap to resign Brodgen and Middleton. They get Schroeder who is Mike Budenholzer guy at the same price as Bledsoe but he is locked up for multiple years, which saves them money over resigning Bledsoe. We get Bledsoe to be our starter of the present and keep Sexton while getting Delly who can be a on court coach to Sexton and to pair with him off the bench. Delly can be a playable 3rd point guard in the playoffs so I take him over Calderon.

I'm with you on ideally getting Kemba without giving up Sexton, Love, or Cedi. I don't see that happening, so yeah, Bledsoe makes more sense if you want to keep those guys. The other guy I think would take fewer assets to acquire is Kyle Lowry since he's on the decline.

I am struggling to want anyone from Toronto. They pretty much showed us that they can be mentally manhandled. We don't need people that crumble under pressure. We are stocked on those guys.

I'd take some of their younger guys. Dudes off the bench can ball

I don't really disagree with you, but I think the Lowry/Derozan type might flourish with the pressure being on Lebron's shoulders instead of theirs.

The more vets we pick up, the less likely Ty Lue is to play any of the younger guys substantial minutes. And honestly, I'm kind of sick of seeing a bunch of vets half-ass it for most of the season.

The Perkins option is being picked up for trade purposes. His contract and Okaro Whites unlock alot of trades when paired with JR, Korver, and/or Hill's contract. It allows us to take on more salary thus saving the other team more money. With alot of teams getting real close to the luxury tax saving them an extra 5 million this year means they could possibly use the MLE or not hit the tax line in future trades.
