2019 Cavs

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Kyrie would take more than 20 shots a game. I see collin taking 15 or sosurely he will get as many as Clarkson. I think he score more than 12 especially with his ft rate

Unfortunately I think people are getting awful excited about trades that aren't going to happen... Outside and possibly Kemba I don't think there's going to be any major trades made in the offseason if Bron returns... If he doesn't I'm sure we'll start making some to unload the vets on the team

Hope your right, I think this team is better with JR not here and more playing time for cedi, zizic and now sexton

Also, what we could get for JR and Korver, possibly Clarkson and hopefully revive Hood plus the mid level exception

You realize he’s a rookie and definitely not the #1 scoring option right? LeBron as a rookie was the best player on his team and averaged 20 ppg, and you’d be disappointed with Sexton averaging 12? You’re gonna be disappointed my friend.

Only 7 rookies averaged more than 12 ppg last year.

Josh Jackson
Jayson Taytom
Lauri Markkenen
Ben Simmons
Dennis Smith Jr
Donovan Mitchell
Kyle Kuzma

Sexton is definitely in the top 7 scorers in the draft. He led the SEC in scoring.

What do you think we offer? TT and filler?

Edit: wasn't trying to be funny. I just don't see us giving any assets to pay DeAndre 10 million more than TT. Maybe we could do DeAndre and Beverley for TT and Korver.

The tricky part is what's the motivation for LAC? DAJ is just as expiring, and just as competitive as G Hill, so that doesn't do them any good. Unless you ascribe to the idea LAC doesn't want him any more. I suspect they are wanting to stay competitive as they rebuild, so TT may be a viable option for them. They will probably want Zizic as a younger-building block as well.

I think DeAndre is on the fence about opting in or not. He is scared he will lose money by opting out. I don't think he wants to be on the clippers going forward. The clippers do need another center and have way too many guards so any package with guards coming back, the clippers probably decline the offer. TT does make sense and Beverley for Korver makes some sense too because they can move Korver around to give him playing time until they trade him. Korver also has an extra year of a team friendly deal which might make him more valuable than Beverley. If they keep Beverley they are sacrificing playing time for one of their young players just to up Beverley's trade value.

He may not be the first option, but based on what we've seen of Lue's offense, he's almost certainly going to be the second option, and a high usage player as well. He'll likely assume Kyrie's old role in the offense, albeit with some tweaks since he's not (at this point) a good spot up shooter. His job will be to attack and score. The complete lack of anyone other than LeBron that could create offense was, in my opinion, the main reason we targeted Sexton, as creating offense is his most notable skill.

Now, if we make some major trade and bring in another big name, high usage player, then sure, he's probably not going to average as many points. But with the team as currently constructed, it's hard to see any way that he averages 12ppg or less unless he's just not very good.

Or he would be getting 8 assists a game on kick outs for 3. He will definitely have the ball in his hands a bit. If he isn't taking 15 shots I will be surprised. I suppose he could be an absolute bust, but really he seems more ready to go than most of the guys taken above him. If he can do what I think he is contending for ROY.

Yeah, he should be contending for ROTY as the team stands now. He's going to get a lot of opportunities barring some major roster changes.

And I agree that he's probably one of the more NBA ready guys in the draft. He still has things to work on, specifically his shot, but he's definitely primed to hit the ground running. He's also a gym rat and he eats well (he talked about his diet compared to many other incoming rookies in his press conference), so I'm assuming he'll be a lot less likely to hit the rookie wall early as a result.

His shot looks really smooth in his latest workout vids. I am more excited by this guy than I thought. His negatives to me are pretty few and could be mitigated by playing with guys who have more experience.

Big thing to me is if lbj comes back and they keep the youth what experience they will get playing with him for a year. Sexton. Cedi. Zizic. How Preston getting some court time in practice with lbj. Huge imo. I really think he is coming back and I don’t see Koby/Gilbert trading the youth. Cavs are in a good place. If the kids excel lbj might yet retire year. Contracts of Sexton cedi zizic. Give us a lot of flexibility next three years
