His shot looks really smooth in his latest workout vids. I am more excited by this guy than I thought. His negatives to me are pretty few and could be mitigated by playing with guys who have more experience.

He said during his press conference that he'd already done work to improve his shot.

That's why I was totally okay with the pick. The dude has flaws, but he's a tireless worker so there's a good chance he'll fix them. And, as I've mentioned before, his jumper needed some refinement, but it wasn't flat out broken like MKG's was coming into the league. Sexton shot 34% from three in college and 80% from the stripe. He's not a bad shooter, he's just not a great one, at least not coming out of school. I wouldn't bet against him becoming a great shooter, though.

Yep. Also shot selection had a lot to do with it too. Hopefully he won't be going 1 on 3 all the time like he was in college. If he shows tunnel vision with NBA players on his team I will start to worry more.

Big thing to me is if lbj comes back and they keep the youth what experience they will get playing with him for a year. Sexton. Cedi. Zizic. How Preston getting some court time in practice with lbj. Huge imo. I really think he is coming back and I don’t see Koby/Gilbert trading the youth. Cavs are in a good place. If the kids excel lbj might yet retire year. Contracts of Sexton cedi zizic. Give us a lot of flexibility next three years

My thinking too. I don't think any free agent or trade gets us all the way there. We need to grow internally and pay more attention to continuity and chemistry.

Any chance we can still land DeAndre Jordan? Just read a report of him possibly opting into his contract to facilitate a trade. Cavs almost had him at the deadline for Shumpert, Fry, Crowder and a 1st. Maybe we can put another package together they will take?

Maybe but the question is what we would give up for him. The Clippers just traded for Gortat so TT might be out of the question.

Maybe Clarkson, Nance & Korver? Or could we sign and trade Hood as a part of a package? Wonder if they would be interested in some of those young guys (with the exception of Korver).

I wouldn't give up Nance or Korver for DeAndre alone. Both those guys can be more valuable to use for another deal or on this team. I would give up Korver if Beverley was included. Id offer TT and filler if they just want to move Deandre, if they turn it down then move on.

I would be pretty happy if we could land Jordan without giving up Nance. If we could land Jordan, then Walker and Batum I believe that team can have a realistic shot at winning it all.

The problem with bring in DeAndre is his block shots have dropped dramatically. He was averaging 2.3 only two years ago and it drop to 1.7 last year then .9 this year. Also I'm not sure how much he is expecting to get paid in a year, there could be a disconnect with what he thinks he should get paid and what we are willing to pay him. That could lead to him walking.

JR is an expiring. Not sure if they value TT and Zizic enough to do this. I’m not giving them Nance unless I know LeBron and DJ are staying.

I am not sure that Zizic does not have a better future and he clearly has a better contract
