2019 NBA Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
:D

Pre-season got me.

I tried to contact synergy about their subscription that included video, and they said that they don't offer it to consumers like myself??? what does that mean.

:(

Do they only deal with pro coaches/scouts nowadays? Or maybe it's some weird legal thing with the NCAA since you're international? Strange stuff.

I guess? they didn't even try to clarify or give me a good reason other than "we don't provide this for deep dives customers".

When I said: "Okay. Is there a way to upgrade the subscription?" (I'm not currently subscribed)

They replied with "Sorry, not this time".

I don't think the support staff had any idea i'm an international customer. Didn't mention it at least.

It's frustrating because I was willing to shell anything and I said so in the email. I don't know how I will be able to follow the NCAA fully without it because I no longer stay up late at night to watch games. Had to fix that hsit because it wasn't healthy after doing so for so long.

Sign me up for either Barret or Reddish. Trade Love for a younger player or picks. Draft Reddish to play the 4.

Is there any real video evidence that RJ Barrett can shoot at all?

Looks slow as hell.

I've yet to really see him shoot off the dribble either.

This isnt to say that the kid cannot become a shooter, just I dont like his makeup compared to Reddish and Williamson.

Barrett and Williamson both 60-65% foul shooters if memory serves. I wouldn't bank on either of them developing reliable NBA-range three point shots if they're still shooting sub-70% from the line in college. Granted, they both bring many other strengths to the table, but it's hard to build around a player who can't shoot in the modern NBA.

Barrett absolutely has to develop a jump shot to become an elite player at the next level, imo. Williamson I can better stomach not shooting because he is so otherworldly driving to the hoop and I'd probably be more interested in seing how he develops as a defender.

I haven't seen a lot from Reddish, but from what I've read he's supposedly the most polished offensively out of the three but isn't quite as explosive as the other two. How do they compare to each other? @Sir'Dom Pointer what is your read on those three?

He just said the other day that he has no read on them yet. Just going off rankings until he can watch them actually play, and no, Virginia Union scrimmages don't count.

Williamson was 7-7 from the FT line last night for what it's worth.

Reddish was 2-6.

Something to monitor once the games start counting.

No read. Watched the pre-season and it looks like Reddish checks a lot of boxes as an NBA star and is particularly a good fit for this team as opposed to the other two.

I like his feel for the game. Good ball handler, passer and shooter.

These are just hot takes, so take it for what it's worth lol.

LeBron fell into that range as a HS Junior/Senior as well, and he's developed into a solid shooter. Fun fact, LeBron was an 80% FT as a freshman in HS, and progressively got worse.

The problem with a lot of these kids is that high school was so easy for them, it becomes tough to get them to work on their weaknesses.

Sometimes it takes going to college, and playing against level competition for them to realize, oh shit, I need to get better.

After seeing him in his early college scrimmages, I honestly think it is less important that Barrett shoots well out of the gate. He looks like a point forward type who can mitigate shooting shortcomings early in his career by being an incredibly versatile player. To me, finishing with his off hand is going to be more important to his development than shooting, which I think he can be passable at.

Barrett is a fluid athlete for his size, he has a nice handle, displayed much better than expected vision and his defensive ceiling is pretty high. He looks to maybe not be the best pure wing athlete but he has great functional athleticism. He can channel it in games better than the other 2/3 prospects.

Barrett, to me, looks like the only wing player who could be an elite two-way guy. I think Little has more offensive potential, because of his shooting mechanics but he has looked a little clunky laterally in his early scrimmages....which is worrisome guarding the 2/3 at the next level.

I want to see more college tape from Little before deciding but Barrett just seems like a high floor guy at first glance. It's tough for me to envision someone with his size, athleticism and motor (on both ends) not at least being a good starter.

Yeah, I'm not meaning to say every 60%, 65% foul shooter is doomed. They're just very hit-or-miss on whether or not they develop a reliable NBA 3. And of course, hit-or-miss is a scary descriptor if you're talking about drafting someone in the top 3. They better be really dominant in other ways (like LeBron) if their jumpshot is a big questionmark.
