2019 NBA Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm a big Reddish guy early on. But obviously it's way too early to have any strong opinions. I'm very excited to watch college ball this year because we're going to have a top 3-5 pick.

Does this mean I have to watch Coach K piss away a massive talent advantage again because he doesn't feel like doing his job? It does, doesn't it?

I'll be honest: If I was 70 years old and guaranteed millions of dollars a year regardless of how I did my job I wouldn't do shit either.

Supposedly these guys are actually willing to work and play man to man unlike Bagley

I've heard that about Bagley, and it's probably true, but I'm not giving K a pass for that. He's supposed to be the best college coach ever, and he can't get a 19-year-old kid to play man? Come on.

If he's refusing to put in the necessary effort to play man, and your best chance of winning games is to zone up, what more do you want him to do?

Bench him, ruin his draft stock, and scare away potential recruits?

I'm getting real Andrew Wiggins vibes from watching RJ Barrett. Am I trippin?

Watching the two, I don't really see any similarities.

I don't have the questions about Barrett's motor that I had about Wiggins.

Perhaps, but I see a lot of the same flaws with most Canadian prospects.

They are just too robotic in some of the stuff they do. Like Wiggins with his handle, Tristian with his offense and Barrett with his shooting. It seems they were taught only basic fundamentals and then focused on other parts of their game.

That's not to say that all Canadian prospects are similar. But I think it's something to keep in mind when watching Barrett.

He's Coach K. Its Duke. He's not scaring away potential recruits.... not when they're dropping the kind of money they are, anyway.

Barrett just like Wiggins does not have a fluid game at all. Just like Wiggins he can't shoot. He's an athletic player like Wiggins but both are guys who's game gets held back because it's not very fluid. I don't see an element in his game that jumps out at me and makes me think he can dominate at the next level just like with Wiggins.

All the top programs are dropping money. Small things matter. These top guys only care about being a college star and getting their NBA money, if they think Coach K is going to play hard ball with them they'll gladly go play for Self, or Cal, or Miller, or any of the other top tier programs.

It's shitty for Coach K, I feel bad for him, but it's the price you have to pay if you want those top guys year in and year out.
