Giant dudes and foot injuries are usually a recipe for success.
Very risky given the injury history of this type with guys with his body type. Draft just got a bit worse. Cavs really really need a good lottery night for this rebuild to work!
Goga's having another great game so far in his second Euroleague appearance, with 13 points, 3 boards, and 2 blocks at halftime. There's little precedent for a teenage big contributing at a high level in Euroleague (other than Doncic, if you count him as a big). Off the top of my head...
-Valanciunas was 18 years old for his only Euroleague season, in which he averaged 7.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 0.7 blocks per game.
-Bargnani averaged 3.7 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 0.2 blocks per game in his age-19 season.
-Vesely averaged 8.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 0.5 blocks per game in his age-19 season.
Did I miss anyone?
EDIT: He finished with 23 points, 8 boards, and 2 blocks. The 23 points were a game high in a matchup that featured ex-NBA players Norris Cole, Earl Clark, Mike James, and Mindaugas Kuzminskas as well as Cavs prospect Arturas Gudaitis.
Through two games he's now averaging 20 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3 blocks.
I feel absolutely terrible for Bol. It’s not a lisfranc, but it’ll take him completely off draft boards for some
I love him lol
I think we may have to start discounting the Euroleague + young player playing time thing now, especially when comparing guys to past Euroleague players. Doncic's success HAS to have changed the way of thinking of coaching staffs in the Euroleague imo.
So while it's impressive what Goga is doing what he's doing in Europe, I'll be less likely to focus on the actual opportunity he's been given as a positive as I did with Luka... if that makes sense.
Does anyone know where you can watch Euroleague games online, either live or on replay?
Also tells you how bad it would be if you landed out of the top 3.Morant is up the #3 overall on nbadraft.net and on SI's latest mock (behind Zion and RJ). I think that's crazy, but it speaks to how incredibly fluid this draft is after the top-2 (and I'm not sure RJ's a lock to go #2, fwiw). There's probably at least a dozen players still in the running for a top-3 pick.
