Yeah, Delpit was at his best last year flying in like a missile and lighting someone up at the LOS. Unfortunately, it seems like all our safeties thrive at that and none are particularly strong in coverage.Both.
I think Delpit is dumb. He is a massive liability in coverage. He is playing incredibly poorly, and he's responsible for a lot of the mistakes he is making.
I also think that we can use him in different roles. He's actually looked really good blitzing or attacking specific gaps in run fits.
A good coaching environment identifies the things that young players do well, and asks them to do those things. Then they start to slowly add more responsibilities to the player's plate.
I haven't seen that with Delpit.
