Like the Clippers.
It is equally telling that folks are pointing to a single quality win (we did split with the Bucks), in a month long stretch, as evidence that what we're doing was scalable not only over the season, but in the playoffs as well.

The question, as far as playoffs go, is what version of the Cavs will we see the rest of the year and heading into the playoffs. We are not currently playing well. The 4 it looks like will end up 5-8 are Philly, Heat, Pacers, & Magic. None of those are pushovers. If we haven’t started playing significantly better by then, who would you see us beating? I’d take my chances with Orlando, because of their youth, but they have a lot of pieces. Pacers are similar. And unless we are really clicking, we want no part of a healthy Heat or 76ers. Now, if we are playing well - a version of what we saw in January and early February, but with the talents of DG and Mobley fitting in - then only a healthy Philly scares me. But if what we’ve seen over the last 5 is indicative of what we will be in April, there is no 1st round opponent I feel very confident about

Since Mobley and Garland went down, I would say the Cavs had an opportunity for 8 quality wins. I'm excluding the Embid-less Philly games and the first Bucks win, without Giannis. They won 5 (Sac, Clippers, Milwaukee, Dallas, and Orlando) and lost 3 (Milwaukee, Orlando, and New Orleans). Is 5-3 against good teams unimpressive to you?

If you beat over 60% of the good teams and over 80% of the trash teams, you're looking at close to 60 wins. That's pretty impressive.

I disagree. I think we have a good chance against Boston and NYK. I think we have the best upset chance in the field (sans 100% Embiid Philly) against Boston. Our matchup with NYK should be a bit better with the moves we have made and them quietly weakening their perimeter D a bit. OG can only cover 1 man. Philly, I am not sure but its not unwinnable.

We just lost two to Philly WITHOUT Embiid which I didn’t think was possible…we better take a leap and start looking good again or a series against Philly with Embiid will be unwinnahle

We went 18-1 missing two starters. We beat the Bucks TWICE and Orlando on the road. We have the second best road record in the NBA just one win below Boston.

I merely identified the win. YOU claimed a case I didn’t make for either the rest of the season or postseason. I wouldn’t be so stupid as to claim 18-1 is sustainable over the rest of the season OR proof we’ll do anything in the playoffs.

The Clippers win by ten was against a team in a 17-3 stretch where their two other losses were at LAL by 3 and at MIN by 4. Kawhi was impressed with our team but of course what does he know?

What do you mean by “scalable”? Do you believe the goal to put up 40 3PA per game can’t be done over the course of the season?

There wasn’t really anything to scale. There was nothing that needed to *increase* when the starters came back. The style of play shifted, and it was communicated that that shift was intended to be permanent. It’s why we now see Mobley putting up long range attempts when open.

I’m just really confused by your comment. Nobody expects the Cavs to win 90% of their games for the season.

Please stop including the Bucks win when Giannis didn't play. They're not even a play-in team without Giannis.
