What do you mean by “scalable”? Do you believe the goal to put up 40 3PA per game can’t be done over the course of the season?

There wasn’t really anything to scale. There was nothing that needed to *increase* when the starters came back. The style of play shifted, and it was communicated that that shift was intended to be permanent. It’s why we now see Mobley putting up long range attempts when open.

I’m just really confused by your comment. Nobody expects the Cavs to win 90% of their games for the season.
You and I could suit up and *attempt* 40 3s a game.

Great.

Would you like to answer my question? I asked you to clarify what you meant, because I still don’t get it.

What were the Cavs expecting to scale, and why/how do you believe it can’t?

Since Mobley and Garland went down, I would say the Cavs had an opportunity for 8 quality wins. I'm excluding the Embid-less Philly games and the first Bucks win, without Giannis. They won 5 (Sac, Clippers, Milwaukee, Dallas, and Orlando) and lost 3 (Milwaukee, Orlando, and New Orleans). Is 5-3 against good teams unimpressive to you?

If you beat over 60% of the good teams and over 80% of the trash teams, you're looking at close to 60 wins. That's pretty impressive.
Mavs didn't have Kyrie (or PG and Gafford who are now on the roster). We split with Orlando and the Bucks. Beat the Clippers and lost to the Pels.

I don't believe those shots, to say nothing of the passing lanes, would've remained open against good defensive teams.

What do you think teams will do to take away 3s from the Cavs?

If they’re going to sell out to stop guys like Okoro, Wade, Strus, Niang, and even Mobley from catching and shooting, it means less help against Donovan Mitchell and Jarrett Allen and any high pick and roll.

If teams are selling out to stop the Cavs from shooting 3s, I think lobs are back on the menu.

Jesus Christ this guy has to be trolling now.

"The Mavs didn't have PJ Washington so the win didn't count."

The hell are we doing here.
I mean if you want to compare Grant Williams stats with PJ's this year, you're free to do so, but Kyrie was the headliner and I suspect you ducked that one on purpose.

Well, what you're describing is, for the most part, the type of defenses we've seen since the all star break.

So it counts against us if the other team is missing players but doesn’t count for us if we’re missing players.

To coin a phrase, “very telling.”
So you're counting the Bucks sans Giannis as a quality win? Because that's what we're talking about here.

Yes, in games where we’re watching Darius Garland turn down the same shots that were being taken while he was hurt.

The shot availability didn’t change.
