Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I dont know why any of you are holding out hope for this coach.

It ain't happenin.

For sure trade Levert, but Mitchell will need either a much stricter coach or a true coaching tactician to make the most of his skills. Trading either of these ball-dominant guards won't solve the core issues/problems that make the combined talents of the team far less effective than the sum of its parts.

The problem as I see it is that Mitchell likes playing the way he does, and believes in it. A stricter coach with the backing of the FO, who benches him if he doesn't play the way the coach wants, almost certainly would result in Mitchell not signing a long-term deal here, and going somewhere else where he feels his talents will be more appreciated.

The alternative scenario is that Mitchell suddenly "wakes up", and decides that the way he has played ball his entire life isn't conducive to winning. I think that is unlikely in the extreme. The only scenario where it might be remotely possible is if he was playing second fiddle to a veteran player who was an even bigger star. Like, Prime LBJ/Jokic/Giannis/Embiid level.

But that isn't going to happen here.

Unfortunately, I fear your assessment is correct. While his talent and ability can’t be denied, it’s become more apparent that the Jazz’s failure to achieve more during his tenure was as much his fault as anyone’s

I think he's a player who fits best with a first-option frontcourt player so that he provides scoring balance in the backcourt. So he's a great fit as a No. 2 option with a Jokic, Embiid, Giannis type of guy.

But I think that his style puts a cap on any team where he is expected to be the No. 1 guy.

this would be about the worst (and least self-reflective) takeaway possible by the coaching staff to explain why the cavs lost the game.
Well clearly it can't be any faults from the head coach. He was flawless as usual. It must be the players. They didnt try hard enough. That must be it.

Siakam got 36 points with Wade and Niang guarding him most of the time. He averages under 22. We needed Mobley.

Barrett just takes the ball and dribbles straight to the rim, running over anybody who is in front of him. He gets the call because the defenders are backpedaling. They need to set their feet and take the charge.

This is the one call JBB should have made sure he got a tech for….he should have been up in crew chief’s face and gotten a technical. At that point it wouldn’t have made much difference! Show some damn fire!!!

Bingo!

Wade, Sam, Porter Jr all better options

For the game, in my eyes, Porter was off and maybe play through it, but I could see situationally not going with him.

Sure Sam is horrible defensively, but he was on fire offensively and was commanding 1 or 2 people's attention, he has an incredible gravity, best on the team,

Wade seemed a bit off, but DM just doesnt look for him, his defense is better than Okoro, and rebounding, so i would of been ok with this sub too.

Last night the answer was keep in Sam, but if he is tired, put in Wade, Okoro just wasnt good last night. Honestly not sure why he starts Okoro. Sam or CPJ shold start. really CPJ and if you want to move DM to point, bring in Sam and his instant offense.

We really needed Mobley tonight. Niang got called for five fouls in 16 minutes. He's way too slow to guard guys like Siakam, Barnes, Schroder, etc. He also missed an uncontested 3 from the corner and it wasn't close. He's making only 23% of his corner 3's. What a joke.
Niang is to slow to guard half the guys at the YMCA, how is he supposed to guard NBA level players?

Except he did move his feet on an inbound play and is should of been a turnover. They did point it out to the refs before the playa nd yet the still missed it. You want your coach to coach and work the refs, well the refs did fuck up. I am not a JBB fan, but on this JBB was right and should be angry.

Games like last night are the most frustrating to me, because it could've been a win with minor rotation adjustments.

I don't think Sam is horrible defensively. In fact, I saw him get in front of guys quite often last night and stop them with his chest (unlike a guy like G-wagon who practically grabs guys all the time).

Merrill is just undersized and being asked to check bigger guys. He and Porter's play has been impressive to say the least.

I have seen Sam blown by, he gives 100% effort and knows how to play the game, so he does put himself in front of players, but he is easy to get by.

The G-Wagon is another story, he has a flat and no spare.
