2023-24 Season | Game #42 | Cavs @ Bucks | Jan. 24, 2024 | 8:00 p.m.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
There's just no way in hell Giannis isn't on some human growth hormone. 35-18-10
Well whatever he’s on, I wish Tristan was on it. Tristan has been in the league long enough to know how to get around a test lol lol lol

They dont test superstars or they test them differently. You think LBJ is not on on anything? The older superstars are all cooking and the league knows and allows it. Its great for business

TT getting caught is also great for business with no impact, its the league letting everyone know they care, which we all know they dont

The difference was free throws with the Bucks making 25 to just 11 for the Cavs. A 14-point difference in a 10-point loss. The Cavs kept reaching into the cookie jar and the very experienced Bucks just ripped through and got the calls. You have to keep your hands back and play defense with your feet against these cagey old vets. Lillard, Middleton, and Giannis have perfected the art of drawing a foul. As soon as you extend an arm they go for it.

Mitchell just can't shoot 3's against these guys. He was 2-for-11 tonight and 2-for-10 in the loss in Cleveland. But he was 8-for-13 on 2-point attempts. I thought he should have shelved the 3's and gone for more mid-range jumpers, which he was knocking down consistently.

Allen missed 9 shots, many of which he usually makes. It looked like he was rushing his shots, maybe worried about Lopez.

LeVert's wrist still isn't OK; he took three 3's and missed them all badly. One accidently banked off the glass and went in, however.

I was amazed at how many difficult, low percentage shots the Bucks made, especially Lillard. There would be a Cavalier in perfect position to block the shot but the Bucks would not only get the shot off, they'd make it. On so many possessions the Cavs forced the Bucks to take a difficult contested shot but they went in anyway. Hopefully that will even out on Friday.

Lopez had five offensive rebounds. He was swatting missed shots out to the perimeter all night.

The Bucks rank 29th in steals but had nine tonight. Some of it was Mitchell trying to dribble through a crowd. He had six of the Cavs' 12 turnovers.

Just a combination of poor shooting nights by Mitchell and Allen (23 missed shots between them) and too much fouling by the Cavs along with some incredible shot making by the Bucks. And the Cavs were still within six points with 3:44 to go.

Give the Bucks credit - they know how to close out a game. With the Cavs down by just six at the 3:44 mark they called time out and ran a play where Allen got picked from behind, allowing Giannis to waltz down the lane for a slam as Merrill went to the wrong side. Then a Mitchell turnover trying to split two defenders, a Middleton jumper, and a couple of 3's by the Bucks ended the game.

It's not surprising the Bucks came out and played really well. Let's see what adjustments the Cavs make on Friday. The good news is Miami got beat at home by the 16-27 Memphis Grizzlies with eight players out, including Ja Morant. That was a shocker and it helps the Cavs.
Scoreboard watching in January?

I lived three blocks from his former apartment, which by then had been torn-down.

Milwaukee still hasn't recovered from the loss of such a high-profile food critic.

Also, my favorite Thai restaurant in the Midwest closed during the Pandemic!

It sucks! It was always far better than the much ballyhooed King and I.

They had exceptional fried rice and pad see ew.

Y'all lived in Milwaukee? I did as well from 2000 - 2002. Lived in an apartment at Prospect and Brady, and spent plenty of time on Water St. (was in my mid-20s at the time). Moved to Chicago after that, but look back on that time very fondly. Big party phase in my life lol.

Did you ever run into Dahmer? Was it before his arrest that you lived there? With him being from Akron, I am sure someone on here knew the guy.

What a weird and horrible human being that piece of shit was.

For the next game, it will be better if Dean is the one covering Giannis on the perimeter instead of Jarrett. Giannis will blow by him regardless, but JA needs to be the one contesting that shot at the rim.

it will open up threes for Brook but I would take that over uncontested layups/dunks from Giannis.

If he doesn’t play in the latter part of the 3rd quarter and none in the 4th it’s going to be the same scenario. After going 10-13 on threes if you don’t play you’re probably not going to play in crunch time. I think Dean guarded him one possession last night.

Wade should of played more, he is our best forward defender for sure right now. But Giannis was on a mission last night, and really is almost unguardable when he gets like that...for my money, Giannis is the best player in the NBA right now. Hopefully JBB can find an adjustment that works on Friday.

Question. Why was Jarrett shading Giannis to go to his right? Isnt that shading Giannis to his stong hand? Jarrett kept getting completely blown by.

I agree that Giannis was going to get his last night, but not letting Wade at least take a shot at him made little sense. If nothing else, different looks from different defenders might help to make Giannis a little less comfortable. I'm not sure the wisdom in playing LeVert all those minutes when he didn't look quite right

I still stand on my "matchup wise, the Bucks minus Giannis are ASS" statement.
More shooting luck from them tonight, particularly Middleton.
Having to hope that you don't get officiating that rewards the grifters sucks as well.
Felt like the game plan got hosed when Okoro got hit with 2 early fouls.

That being said, the play of the guards (Mitchell/LeVert) was under par. Shooting wasn't great.
Allen recovered from a slow start and came out with the double-double, and escaped foul trouble.

Felt like this was a legit "try the CPJ/Merrill or Strus combo in lieu of LeVert" night.

Thought JBB navigated the "no Tristan" situation in an interesting way, with Niang basically taking those minutes. Not ideal. Damien Jones minutes were survived and I loved the play with him and LeVert.

When Donovan is having a rough night at the basket I need him to defer more. Cavs have some good shooters now. Double for LeVert.

Let's get these guys on Friday.

I did! In the mid-2000s for a couple years for school.

The entire period is shrouded in an alcoholic haze.

No, he was a bit before my time by 15 years or so.

But my Crim Law professor prosecuted him.
