2023-24 Season | Game #46 | Cavs @ Grizzlies | Feb. 1, 2023 | 8:00 p.m.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
For a top 8 team in the league, we very rarely have any games on national TV. Really a shame because we are playing basketball that is really aesthetically pleasing to fans that just like the game.

I'm a little bit worried about this one. We obviously have the big talent advantage, but a back to back against a roster trying to earn their spot in the NBA and a lot of money is always scary.

I am out of market and the problem with national games is I have to listen to national announcers. I love listening to the Cavs broadcast. I get that means no national exposure, its ok as a Cleveland fan I am used to be the underdog and love that role anyways,

So if you dont mind, how did you hear about RCF? Where you on other message boards before?

Mobley is out today, not sure if it’s been reported here yet. Part of his injury management

Yea I actually prefer the Cavs crew too. I just like the national exposure. Bally is luckily in the Louisville market, but unfortunately not on YouTube TV so I had to get the Bally Sports season pass to watch Cavs games. Which now that I think about it, I kind of wish it wasn't in the Louisville market because I think NBA League Pass is cheaper.

I grew up a Knicks fan in the 90s mostly because I had an uncle that lived in New York and would watch Knicks games when he was in town and also because I loved Patrick Ewing (same name which is cool to a 6/7 year old). Kind of had a falling out with the NBA in the mid 2000s and didn't watch it a ton for probably 10 years or so. I'm a big time University of Louisville fan and I just preferred the college game. Donovan was my favorite player for our team back in 2016-17 and one of my favorite Cardinals of all time so when he went pro I decided to follow him. It made me fall in love with the NBA game again. The talent level, shot making ability, pace, athleticism, etc. are just so much more fun to watch than college basketball. Plus UL has basically been the worst P5 college basketball team of the past 5-6 years. Have closely followed Donovan's game since while also watching a lot more NBA in general. I like the Cleveland team as a whole a lot more than I did the Utah teams.

I have other buddies that like Don too and follow him but not as close as I do, so I haven't really had a place to talk Cavs basketball with people. Luckily I happened to see something about the Rubber Rim Job Podcast on twitter a month or so ago which led me to this place. Kind of just viewed and read stuff for a couple weeks and then decided to sign up a couple of weeks ago. Love all the activity here.

Didn't mean to give my life story, but there you have it.

Welcome aboard. Been a lifelong Cavs fan since I first heard our classic Radio Play by Play guy Joe Tait (RIP) in 1986.

Have really enjoyed what Donovan has brought to the team as a whole and of course some of his more individual performances have just been legendary in only about 120 games so far.

It’s a good cast of characters here. Some big personalities, but also a huge number of people who do mostly just read and lurk.

Always cool when someone brand new to the site or someone who has been for years with barely a few posts starts posting more regularly, sharing their story, and bringing their own flavor to the menu here,

We are a pretty close community here. This board has been around for about 19 years now, and I appreciate the life story. We are all Cleveland sports, but especially basketball. I am a Purdue guy myself, but live in AZ.

Anyways, welcome aboard, and if you know Mitchell's middle school basketball coach, I think there was a guy looking for him,. :chuckle:

I must be the only one that prefers Tim Alcorn and Jim Chones to John Michael and AC.

Craziest injury report I've ever seen. Gosh.

I enjoy listening on the radio because it's ahead of the TV, so I only have to turn my head to the TV when something good happens.

it does not look like there will be any sense of home court / home fan advantage. 1/2 full at best?

Let's get this game rolling already!

Remember when JA was snubbed for the All-Star game a few years ago and his subsequent game vs Charlotte?

Top 5 in the East:
Boston - 2 all-stars
Knicks - 2 all-stars
Bucks - 2 all-stars
76ers - 2 all-stars
Cavs - 1

Hope to see a repeat tonight. JA should get in as an injury reserve.

Memphis has a nice court deign. That combined with the light blue seats adds up to a bright environment.

This is a lineup we haven’t seen much. Lots of shooting
