After this I’m pretty concerned about losing some guys that planned on staying. I mean, why stay, your stock may go down with this coach, line, and QB. This was ugly. Maybe the worst OSU loss I have seen in a long time. Day might need to go.

I like Will Howard but the fact is Will Howard excels at a style Ryan Day doesn't really like playing. He'd have to really change his offensive approach and I'm not sure he's gonna want to do that.

Yes and I feel bad for Marvin that he didn't have a great QB his last year...but also that his coach didn't just try to force feed him the ball to make him a Heisman winner.


They could have just thrown to him like Pitt did Larry Fitzgerald every other snap.

I get OSU is playing for bigger things and maybe Day thought that would hamper the team overall, and maybe he'd have been right.

But in the end, it didn't matter as we still lost the one game that mattered anyway.


McCord was good enough that he could have gotten Harrison 25 TDs this year had they just went for it.

If I were Day, I would want a transfer portal QB to announce he is coming to the buckeyes as late as possible in this transfer portal window. Basically give enough time to convince Brown or Kienholz to stay to be a backup QB in 2024 so we can have 3 scholarship QBs on the roster. Give the staff enough time to go through springball before the next window opens. Kienholz probably stays if he is QB2.

FWIW Will Howard is the guy to probably look out for. Like, Day might have a change of heart after tonight and make a play. I mean that's a possibility here. He hoped Devin Brown would show out tonight but since that didn't happen he couldn't change his tune.

I do think @inliner311 is right and that Howard would very much love to come to OSU and play if given the chance.


But he's gonna have to change the offense to utilize Howard because, to be frank, He's probably a worse pocket passer than McCord.

But he's an athlete and can really run. Not like Devin Brown where they say he can run but then you watch him and go "wait, he's slow??"

He's a good runner.
