2023 Fantasy Football

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Are you guys targeting any of the Indy rbs while JT is out? Feel like it's similar to the Miami backfield in that there's a few options but none of them are spectacular

I hope you're not so unfortunate as to have to play any of them.

If you want a dart throw, I'd look at both guys who aren't Zack Moss.

If you actually have to start one in week 1, go for Moss and hope for a TD

Yeah, I was thinking that Evan Hull might be the back to pickup. I'm not really in a need for an rb, but just a team/backfield I was keeping an eye on.

My strategy this year is simple since I haven't prep'd at all

  1. Draft Nick Chubb in the first. Doesn't matter if I'm 1.1, get the golden goose
  2. I imported the top 200 yahoo rankings and the top 200 for Matthew Berry and conditional formatted the top 20% value plays and bottom 20% value plays that I'll heavily lean on during the draft. I do something similar in fantasy baseball mostly bc I know next to nothing about baseball and it works surprisingly well

My wife signed up for fantasy football at her work and asked me to do it, I haven't played in well over 10 years so I'm not sure what the strategy even is these days. It looks like it's a PPR league, and based off the order of teams I'm guessing I pick 10th in a 12 team draft. What would be the best strategy for me? WR's early, RB's mid and QB/TE late? That's what a quick google search recommended, but I figured guys on here would probably be more tuned in and knowledgeable about strategy and who I can expect to be available around 10.

This year, I prefer a WR heavy approach early since there's a general lack of bell cow backs in the NFL right now, whereas there are eight to ten receivers that look like they're going to crush this year.

Jefferson
Chase
Wilson
Sun God
Hill
Diggs
Brown
Adams

I'd say Kupp too, but his health issues are scaring me and I'd probably avoid drafting him in the first round given his uncertain availability early in the season.

If you go for a RB in the first round, Ekeler seems like a pretty safe choice. Barkley too. And, of course, CMC.

RB this year is pretty deep and you can get quality backs into the fifth and sixth round. Maybe even later.

Did a drsft this AM, just small friends league.

8 team full PPR, with bonuses for long TD for R/WT only. QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, 3x WRT, TE, D, K 21 rounds. Next year keep six in original position.

Went okay. Weird unexpected run in QBs with Lawrence getting picked in the 8th as a second QB. I picked 8th.

QB- Watson, Murray (can IR)
RB- Aaron Jones, Gibbs, White, Williams, Penny, Charbonnet
WR- Diggs, Brown, Olave, Cooper, Godwin, Q Johnson, Hyatt, Elijah Moore, Smith-Njigba.
TE- Kmet, Kincaid
D-ST- Saints, but streaming Washington week 1 against AZ
K- Dicker

My glaring issue is QB and TE. Not only a QB run, but the big four TE were gone by round 5. I like my handcuff with Charbonnet, and should get heavy work at WR. Got a ton of value not having to take QB until round 10, and TE until 14. Plus, D/ST went a lot earlier than I cared for, so I ended up with basically three value picks. We’ll see.

12 team non-PPR league. Passing TDs are worth a bit more than standard scoring, missed FGs are penalized more heavily, and defense is either boom or bust in scoring as well but starts off with double what is standard.

I drafted in the back half of the round. How fucked am I? Week 1 starting lineup:

QB - Herbert
RB - Chubb
RB - Mattison
WR - AJ Brown
WR - Moore
TE - Andrews
FLX - Jamal Williams
D/ST - SEA
K - Tucker

Bench: Purdy, Ford, Godwin, Pittman, Ertz, CIN

Looks incredible. Chubb, AJB and Mandrews are three of the top 25ish players.

Okay, commissioner question.

Keeper league with future pick trade. Keepers are for the rounds they were drafted.

If you trade a future pick, should you lose the ability to keep a player from that round?

Have someone who wants to offer future picks for a first round player, but wants to keep the player long term.

I pick 11th this year so i've been pounding strats for this draft. You can always go balanced the first 2 rounds but a double hero WR strat isnt bad at the back end of the draft this year. Like a Digs/AJ Brown first two picks. 3rd round if one of Hurts, Allen or Mahomes isnt gone, I'm taking them. If gone, then you can aim for a Tee higgins, Calvin Ridley type player. RB here is kind of a reach unless one falls in your lap. Plus I like the RBs in the 6,7 and 8 round range. However you want to play it! Stacking isnt bad either if you can pull it off. If you get a Calvin Ridley in the 3rd round, maybe go Lawrence in the 5 or 6th round. if you get cooper in 4th round, go watson in in 5 or 6. Etc.

If the price to keep a player is a first round pick, but you don't have a first round pick, then you can't keep the player.
