2023 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Just for those that missed it, Espino (per Lada) let it slip during the weekend that he is still throwing long-toss and may get to the mound until around late-March/early-April. If this is the case, don't expect him as early as some have wanted to speculate. As he hasn't been on mound for year, it may take a month to two to ramp up and get feel for pitches again to get to an affiliate (especially if they hide him in extended ST to keep a careful eye on him).

We will see

He will be handled with kiddy gloves.

Another list in Google docs

Looks like he got AAA from ... see tweet

Amazing work and a must read.

I disagree on his interpretation of the data on some players (J. Rod vs Noel and Genao vs Benjamin most blatant for me), but there's a lot of useful information in there. Bookmark it.

Fully agree on the positive outlook for Cantillo.

Agree that Cantillo is staged and ready for a breakout.. His trajectory, assuming health, is accelerating..

Not sure what you're getting at w/r the Juan Benjamin.. He's sutcha little guy.. Genao is a player that could be everything we're seeing with Rocchio... some day..

Just in case you are curious
mlb pipeline top 100
31 DeLauter
59 Manzardo
91 Rocchio
100 Espino

So, BA snub of Manzardo shouldn’t hurt a draft comp pick as he landed on 2 of 3 top 100 lists. Now just has to earn spot so FO doesn’t manipulate his service time.

I feel like we will go with the best 26 north in 24, regardless of service time... He still has to earn a spot...

I see the Guardians have released Justin Lewis. I thought he was an intriguing Rule 5 pickup (minor league portion) back in ‘22. He look like a 6’7 Tristan, with a short arm delivery which makes his fastball ride up on hitters Ala David Riske and appear faster than the velocity reads. Did he ever get any run in our system, or was he injured? I find remember reading about him since we acquired him. I do remember he was 27 when we took him, which I thought then was old for minor league Rule 5.

It's still 1 out of 3, with ESPN yet to be released?

BP doesn't "count" for this arbitrary criteria
