2023 Season | Series #50 | Orioles @ Guardians | Sep. 21 -24, 2023

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Uh oh...

Better stop this now... Could blow up...

Just like that... Nice awareness from EDLS.

Someone will get an NRI invite to potentially play 1B/DH. It could be Calhoun. Wouldn't shock me.

But it will take that player going off in the Spring and Manzardo looking meh or overmatched for it to mean much. I do not believe we would risk him finishing top 2 in the ROTY voting and accruing a full year of service time just for him to play 100-110 games, which is a real possibility considering his pedigree and the position he plays. The opportunity would surely be there.

For an organization that heavily values team control that flies in the face of a lot of internal philosophies.

It would make more sense to bring back a guy that seems well liked on an MiLB deal...

Pries is another guy who could also get a look, but I am betting it will be a veteran...

Pries another left handed hitter who I like, didn't do much in Cbus this year...

No way he is a serious consideration at all, Noel would get a chance first...

But a veteran.. 100%... Need a righty... Need one badly.

6 BBs from McKenzie in 1.2 IP??

:dunno:
yes... home plate was moving all over the place while he was pitching..

...it was really nice to see how well the ball came out of his hand.. smooth, like he has done when he was on top of his game..

As stated in a MUCH earlier post.. the results are an afterthought.. just that McStix is on the hill and healthy when he leaves it today...

Ball Game... ugh.. split the series.. kind of a lifeless pair of games today and yesterday..

He's going to be in the mix... He though is a bit down the ladder when it comes to actually making the roster...

I was at the game, my only trip to Ohio this season. Lots of Baltimore fans in attendance, I'm sure they've been in hiding for a decade. McKenzie, from what I noticed, threw mostly (if not all) 4-seam fastballs Not able to hit the strike zone, but at least his arm didn't fall off Jose looked great, Gimenez made some Gold Glove plays (but stupidly tried to steal late while trailing 5-1 and got thrown out). The bullpen was the bullpen. And Calhoun, Laureano and Tena played, Freeman was superglued to the bench. Why the need to see what Tena can do? Anyway, had a surprisingly good pulled pork sandwich and got to see condiments race around, which the fans enjoyed more than any part of the game. So a fun day overall.

Rutschman finished the season going 13-for-23 with 5 walks against the Guardians; a .565 BA, .643 OBP, and a 1.382 OPS. He OWNED us.

Santander was right behind at .433/1.235 with 12 RBI's in 7 games. Nobody else had more than 4 RBI's. Santander had 12 of their 31 RBI's against the Guardians.
