2024 Guardians Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
But Bauer being black-balled isn't just about sexual assault and repeated battery of women, it was simply the last straw. He has a long list of actions which got him shipped off every team he played for in the league.

Kaepernick's personal opinions were neither stupid, nor inaccurate. He simply was punished for believing them.

Its not a fair comparison because one guy was unfairly black-balled, while Bauer's current unemployment was based on his actions.

Ozuna was charged while Bauer wasnt and he is still playing... They need to make things equal...

That also being stated, Kaepernick wasn't actually all that good in my mind... I never liked his play and the fact he refused to take a backup role tells me he really didn't have the passion...

You cannot deny Bauer's passion for the game... No one plays harder when he is out there...

Bauer can go back to Japan. Roberto Osuna has had a nice career over there since his transgressions.

I agree with your first statement AZ.

The rest we'll just agree to disagree, but I do respect your opinion.

Interesting conversation around Bauer for sure.

Trevor Bauer's numbers aren't the problem, neither were Kaepernick's.

Their on-field numbers are certainly comparable -- Kaepernick was an above average QB for quite some time just like Bauer is an above average pitcher.

Kaepernick led a great team to the playoffs, Bauer missed his best chance at a ring because of his conduct. But again, performance isn't the issue -- both have the talent to be high performers at the professional level.

Anyone pretending otherwise is DEEPLY biased.

The comparison is about off the field conduct. Kaepernick is a good person, strong leader and is respected by those who he played with.

Bauer appears to be quite the opposite.

A Harvard study? Impressive.

That's in the ivy league.
Their on field numbers are worlds apart. One guy put up average numbers on a 1-10 team with the 27th ranked scoring offense in the league. The other guy was one of the best starting pitchers in the league.

And in the season before that. Kaep had a 78.1 passer rating while Bauer won the Cy Young. One guy was elite, the other guy was average and might not have even been a starter. I think you're the only willing to die on that hill.

And that's not even getting into the fact Kaep looked like ass at his workouts.

Is Triston OK? Didn’t catch the game but see he was pulled with a PC in the 70’s. They just being careful? Laboring today?

I don't want Bauer on my team. Our team chemistry seems really solid and we are doing better than fine without him. Maybe someone will take a chance on him, but no us. Please.

Interesting retort to my comment.
Bullpen is going to be over worked. And guys like Cookie and TMac are giving up less runs than their numbers indicate they should. Probably not sustainable. They need multiple quality starters.

Gards have won 8 out 9 series. Can't ask for more than that.

Unthinkable a year ago at this time but the FO should look to trade some bats for arms.

Having fun, but seems like the SP is being held together by duct tape and is due to implode any week now. Need some help especially with Williams probably not on the horizon anymore.

Do you guys have someone who can do a Horizon: Zero Pitchers photoshop?
