3 Trades That Put Us In Contention

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Monroe, this year, is not an upgrade over Tristan Thompson....

Tristan works HARD to improve his game. Bennett has not shown the same work ethic or drive. I disagree with you. I do not think he has what it takes.

How do you even know that when Bennett has barely played? I agree with you about TT, but not Bennett.

Monroe to CLE is a great fit obviously. Something like...

CLE trades:
Anthony Bennett
Sergey Karasev

CLE gets:
Greg Monroe
Jonas Jerebko

DET trades:
Greg Monroe
Jonas Jerebko

DET gets:
Arron Afflalo

ORL trades:
Arron Afflalo

ORL gets:
Anthony Bennett
Sergey Karasev

I think DET trading Monroe for Afflalo is one of the more likely trades right now, the question is where ORL would flip Monroe to if they don't keep him and Vucevic together. Yes it may be overzealous to think they'd take Bennett/Karasev over Afflalo/Monroe/other trade return for Monroe - but imagine ORL went into last year's draft with Bennett ranked 1st and secretly praying for him to fall to 2. Chances are despite his start they'd still be drooling. Or even if they had him not that highly rated, they may still be very interested. ORL is tanking because they are thinking UPSIDE. They want stars. If they rated Bennett as a likely star heading into his draft the odds of them still paying a price for him are solid

I personally have a theory that ORL has a specific talent evaluation system that goes after prospects with high fluidity and apparent feel for the game. Vuc, Afflalo, Harkless, Harris, Nicholson, O'Quinn, Oladipo all fit this. Bennett and Karasev both have fluidity and naturalism aesthetically as strengths heading into their drafts.

A work ethic and drive has nothing to do with playing basketball. You show that in practice and the gym. If he shows that then maybe he plays.

You can tell he doesn't though, look at him when he does play. There is no hustle, heart. He doesn't grind away. A great work ethic means you want to be the best at your trade. He doesn't show that. His heart isn't in it right now. No drive what so ever.

Hope all this changes. Im pulling hard for this dude. I want him to succeed.

Me too. What he really needs is minutes. Brown, for some reason won't give him any. He needs to be in the D-League for a while to gain his confidence back.

He's still out of shape... that's how I know. He gets winded running up and down the court. They've been involved in basketball activities since late September... it's been 4 full months and the guy still isn't in shape.

He showed up 20+ lbs over his college playing weight. Shoulder surgery or not, he can jump on a stationary bike and eat right to avoid putting on excessive weight and to maintain good endurance. *I've done this myself*. I had tendinitis and bursitis in both ankles when I played football. I came back in better shape than I did before I was injured.

The guy is lazy. He might be a very nice and humble guy, but he's lazy. He doesn't have a good work ethic.

I call bullshit

If he had a good work ethic, wouldn't he be in good shape by now? You can still do cardio after his surgery.

He's shed the weight. It's tough to get in game shape without actually playing though.

If your in shape you can run up and down the floor. He can't without being winded. He's not in shape and not even close to game shape. If he had a good work ethic it would of never got this far. As bad as he's been he would be first one in and last one out of the gym working. Hell even Jack and Clark have been doing that lately because of their struggles. Have you heard of Bennett working hard at anything?
