#52 DeShone Kizer

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He does take too many sacks, but thats normal for a young qb.

Its just so painfully obvious he is the best QB on this team. Which I do not think is a good thing, but I dont think its false either.

Tough game to evaluate, a few penalties and missed assignments with protection put him in some rough spots.

In any event, the weaknesses are obvious. Internal clock, ball placement.

But the good is very good, he can move around well and has the arm talent. Having Thomas in there would open up the playbook a bit more.

Hopefully he sees some action with Kizer in Game 3

He showed a lot of potential but just couldn't stay healthy.

Easily the best QB on the roster, and he's already conducting himself like the leader of the team on the sideline. He needs all the reps he can get this season.

So frustrating some of the penalties and fuckups by the offensive line that kept us from seeing even more.

Needs to work on holding the ball too long. Also he got away with a very poor decision that was intercepted thanks to a defensive holding flag.

He's the first Browns QB prospect I've felt really has a chance since I can remember following the Browns as a kid.

The OL still doesn't look good.

I'd like to see the OL play together for a few games before starting Kizer. He still holds the ball too long, and that line is going to need to gel before we put him in there or he'll get killed. Osweiler likely will suck enough that he'll deserved to be replaced after 3-4 games anyway.

The OL has had 2 guys who are fringe NFL players starting at LT the first two games in Rod Johnson and Cam Erving. As bad as Cam Erving is, he's been starting over Johnson when healthy...I have to think they will look a lot better when one of the best lineman in the NFL replaces a fringe NFL player at the most important OL position. JPP and Vernon aren't exactly scrubs either.

FWIW I agree the OL F ups has hindered getting a true look at Kizer. They've also done the same thing to Osweiler even though nobody wants to acknowledge it.

Difference is everyone knows Osweiler can and will still miss throws and misread defenses in absolutely clean pockets.

Even an OL made up of all-stars needs some games to work together and gel, so the issue isn't going to be solved immediately just because Bitonio and JT are back in the lineup for Game 1.

Honestly, I thought the OL was more than good enough based on what I saw. There were plenty of clean pockets out there.

There were only two real breakdowns from what I remember. One was Duke badly blowing a blitz pick up that led to a sack and one was Greco (not a normal starter) being too slow as a pulling guard to get over to JPP before he could blow the play up.

Otherwise, I thought the pass protection was good enough. A couple of sacks on Kizer came from him holding the ball way too long/WRs not getting open.
