A closer look at Bradley Beal

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Beal! Do it Grant, you know you want to.

We could easily package our 2nd rounders together to jump up into the late first round again. Maybe we are truly trading Andy and we'll be moving up into the teens somewhere via Andy + the 2nd rounders?

Who the hell knows what Chris Grant is scheming up right now. I fully expect Grant to rape the shit out of other GM's and come away from this draft with two solid young players in the back of his windowless van. :hide:
No Sandusky doe

SG is actually one of the most barren positions in the NBA right now... C is the only position that has less talent.
Honestly, I think you have it backwards. Especially when considering the future. Three of the top four SGs in the league are 30+ (two of which are 33 and 34) and the only real good young ones are Harden and George.

But as far as C's go, there's actually quite a bit of good young-ish talent: Howard, Bynum, Lopez, Cousins, Gasol, Jordan, Hibbert, Monroe, etc.

There's just as many top notch SG's as top notch C's, and then there are WAY more above average sg's compared to above average centers. However, the point is that SG is a pretty bare cupboard these days and definitely not the easiest position to fill.

Seriously???
Lebron isn't coming back to Cleveland. Not in 3 years, not in 5 years, not ever. So, give up on that. I really don't want him to come back to Cleveland anyways. Like he said, he's from Akron, not Cleveland. He may retain a home in Akron, but Lebron has become/is becoming another transplanted Midwesterner in Florida. He proposed to Savannah & move his kids down from Ohio.

I'm curious why so many are assuming the Cavaliers want Beal?? I know SG is a hole for the team right now, but it's generally one of the easier positions on a team to fill.

And most of those transplanted Midwesterners in Florida are 70 years and older.

In my eyes, Robinson and MKG are just as good as Beal, so I wouldn't really want that deal......

But if the Cavs think Beal is a better player/fit than anyone else, I am all for the deal. I don't and haven't ever really cared about the 24th pick. Whoever we pick at 24, we'd be lucky if they ended up being a decent contributor off the bench ala Boobie Gibson. The 24th pick is kind of a swing and pray pick that results in nothing much more often than not. At 32, you are just as likely to find a decent player IMO.

We also have 2 other picks only 8 picks later on, so what's the big deal?

If the Cavs move up to 2 and only give up 4 and 24, I am a happy man because that means the Cavs fell in love with a guy and did what it took to secure that they would land him. That sounds much better to me than taking the "left over guy" that fell to 4.

I agree with you. I think we should sit tight at 4 and take who falls to us. Where I'd like to get creative is moving up from 24, and getting as vital a piece as possible. Since I got to look at Meyers Leonard up close and really see what he has to offer, I have been hoping that somehow we could get ourselves in position to grab him. I believe he is a kid that could really benefit from growing alongside AV...and be the big man we need to grow alongside Kyrie, Tristan, our #4, Gee, and Andy ..who I really get the vibe is more than likely here for the long haul, anyway. To be honest, although I like and respect where I got the info on the deal possibly being ready to be made for the #2 pick, I know nothing is done til it's literally done and if it's not done now, no guarantee exists on it ever getting done. To trade up costing a high pick in this draft when your worst case scenario option is one of Beal, MKG, or Robinson ..to me, it's nuts .. a no lose deal getting any of those guys.. All will be great NBA players, and you can't have enough quality big men.

I like Leonard as well, but he has been labeled as soft and unwilling to get physical in the paint. If that is truly the case, I'm not sure he's worth to trade up for.

Every white center who doesn't base his game on dunking gets labelled as soft, and chris bosh

Eric Gordon, that's a big one. But yeah, I agree.

YES!

I've been saying Meyers Leonard for a while now, and it either goes through people's ears or they tell me he's soft/terrible.

A rotation consisting of Thompson/AV/Leonard would be great, IMO. Couple that with Irving/Gee/(Beal or MKG) and you have yourself a team.

W&G, did you leave Harrison Barnes out on purpose? We will have 2 of MKG/Barnes/Beal/Robinson available, do you not include Barnes in that group? Would you pass on him if you were calling the shots?

Found this, thought it was interesting (though I think its from a year or 2 ago):

USA Basketball: Brad Beal

The Personal Scoop

Favorite basketball player of all-time: LeBron James.
Favorite team: Cleveland Cavaliers.
Best player I’ve ever faced: Austin Rivers.
I want to play one-on-one against: someone better than I am.
Always at my bedside is: a basketball.
Away from basketball I enjoy: studying, watching basketball.
This right-hander wears: No. 23 because it was my AAU number over the summer, and I played well with it so I kept it.

Hmmmm... I didn't realize his two older brothers were college football players.

Siblings bring out the best in Florida Gators' Bradley Beal- College Basketball - ESPN

Brandon, a tight end, played football at Northern Illinois, graduating in 2009. Bruce, an offensive lineman, graduated from Alabama State last year. Brad is beginning his basketball career at Florida, and Bryon and Byron, the 320-pound babies, are high school sophomores already earning appreciative stares from college coaches.

Anyone with two big rough and tumble big brothers is going to have a certain toughness about him.

So... We have Brandon, Bruce, Bradley, Bryon and Byron

Biggio, Bagwell and Bell have nothing on those Killer B's
