A closer look at Bradley Beal

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Moving up so the Cavs take Barnes doesn't really make sense for either team though. The Bobcats wouldn't do it since they seem to be really high on Barnes, and the Cavs wouldn't do it because one of Beal/MKG/Barnes would be available at 4 regardless. If they're moving up, it's probably to leapfrog washington who is pretty desperate for beal at this point.

You have to consider that Charlotte might be feigning interest in Barnes because they know or suspect that they Cavaliers like him.
Maybe it's really Robinson that the Bobcats want, not Barnes.

I don't think there is any real evidence that Barnes is ahead of Beal on the Cavs' board. If the Cavs trade up, (which would surprise me because I still believe they have Gilchrist at #2) it won't be for Barnes.

If Grant thinks Beal is the better player, this is a no-brainer. Like some have said, the NBA is not the NFL, 1 star > 2 good players. And at #24 the chances of getting a nice player are slim.

What evidence do you have that Beal is ahead of Barnes?? For that matter, what evidence do you have at all of what the Cavaliers' draft board looks like?
At least we know they liked Barnes alot last year and were disappointed when he returned to school. Sam Amick, who called the Tristan Thompson pick a year ago, was the guy who reported that the Cavaliers were still infatuated with Barnes.

Just sayin'. I hope I'm wrong, believe me.

But why would they trade up Kidd-Gilchrist? To me that makes no sense. Yes, I understand the Bobcats could bluff in telling us they'd take him. But if they're seriously willing to take him, then they wouldn't trade that pick. I don't think they want him, the fact they're willing to trade tells me that. I wouldn't go for it if it's Kidd that they want, because I'm just guessing here. I think the Cavs really wouldn't mind having Barnes or Kidd-Gilchrist. They probably rather have Kidd-Gilchrist, but I'm not sure it's by that much. Both are small forwards, I think they'd be find with either.

You only trade up to get Beal, IMO. The Cavs are more desperate for a shooting guard than a small forward, and maybe Beal is now number 1 on their board.

They desperately need someone that can shoot the ball. And as great as MKG might be, that is his weakness.

This amick guy seems to have the best sources. I will say that in the utube video of beal's workout with Washington he didnt miss.

I'm sure Gee would be much more enthusiastic about resigning with the Cavs if they go with Beal over the other two small forwards. Gee was willing to play some shooting guard, but it wasn't his strength.

And with a couple of strong shooters at 1 & 2 that can also drive and create, he'd be fine.

Beal seems like the most well rounded player out of the perimeter bunch. Easiest fit, lowest risk, etc.

It's certainly understandable, and given all we gave up for that #24 pick was Session's expiring and we're sitting on 2 second round picks that are pretty close ... it makes sense.

But will this force the Wizards to trump our offer?

Dont think they have anything to trump our offer with. Its pretty wierd that this could be RG111 in reverse.

You are correct, but Alonzo Gee shouldn't determine who we draft. (Not sure if you are saying that or not)

If Beal is their guy then I'm all about making the trade. We might view MKG, Barnes, Robinson and Beal as being on the same tier, but that doesn't mean the Cavs do. And five years from now there's very little chance they will all be considered comparable.

I like MKG a lot, but just because Kyrie can shoot doesn't mean our SF doesn't have to.

I'm not convinced it's 100% legit ...signed,sealed, and delivered ...but I got a call from someone today that said he heard we had a deal in place for the 2nd pick, in order to select Beal. It involved our 4 and 24... which I think is pretty pricey given that 4 could likely be MKG... BUT, that's what I heard in a call today from a decent source..

If they want Beal they don't need to move to 2..however if they want MKG,THAT would sway them..
