Addressing the hole at center

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Some of these names being thrown out make me think people forget that Zeller actually had a pretty good second year, showing quite a bit of improvement.

I think Zeller is going to be one of the biggest beneficiaries of Blatt's system. Mike Brown likes big men to be Garbage guys or jumpshooters/post up guys. Zeller is way more versatile than that and can do a lot of things offensively. He has quick feet as shown in the charges he draws, and he showed a lot more grit last year. The guards will not be allowed to ignore Zeller running the court and beating everyone to the basket like they did last year.

I predict Zeller start8ng by the end of the year, unless Andy has a real comeback season where he plays like an allstar again.

Frankly I don't know why this thread even exists. For the first half of last year we had Gee and Clark at SF. That's a hole. Andy, Zeller, and Powell at center is not a hole...that's solid depth and a trio of players that should thrive in Blatt's system. And no, it's not unrealistic to expect Andy to have another healthy season...he should never need to play big minutes this season with a highly capable bench big like Zeller behind him, he has relatively low milage for a player his age, and he has no degenerative injury history.

I personally still like the idea of trading for Horford. He can play center, and his shooting touch makes him a great roster fit. I doubt he would take nearly the package that Love/Gasol would command due to his injury history.

I feel like if we could swing favors that would be great for us.

Getting Jordan Hill he's just like Andy but can actually block shots and he's young.

Hill is 26; he's not still developing. He's also a 4. He only got 20 minutes/game on a terrible Lakers squad. There's no way he's your starting center. Pass.

dieng. dont know how the cavs can get him from the wolves, but i like his skill set for the cavs.

How about Biyombo from Charlotte. His shot blocking could make for an interesting 3 man center rotation with Hawes and Zeller. Each would bring their own unique set of skills to the table. I love Andy but it doesn't seem wise to count on more than 25-30 healthy games from him. I'd check to see if they would bite on some sort of Tristan for Biyombo deal since they might like a more veteran PF to start until Vonleh is ready. They also need a backup PG so we could probably expand it to include Jack for Henderson. Not a sexy deal but it could be helpful for both teams.
