All Star 2016

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Why the hell do people think the Cavs would get the Brooklyn pick in a deal for Melo? If Love is going to the Celtics, that Brooklyn pick is going to NYK, if its going to anyone.
Seriously, I don't understand people's logic with that. And it's been far too popular of a thought here.

There's no fucking way we get Melo AND the Brooklyn pick.

It's nonsense.

Unrelated to this, but since you felt compelled to disagree with my post, Butler is a better player than Kyrie at this stage and it's not even debatable. He's probably the best 2 guard in the NBA because he does everything...passes, scores, and defends at a high level. Kyrie is too one-dimensional by comparison.

I didn't mean to disagree...regardless, you are right.

I think the NBA does the best All-Star festivities out of all the major sports leagues. I enjoyed the entire weekend greatly and James had some highlights in the game tonight. Now onto the latter part of the season and to get this shit going.

All true, but I'd still take Kyrie over him in a vacuum.

Kyrie's upside is much bigger bro. Jimmy Butler, who I love by the way, is in the twilight up his career already. I think he has 2-3 years max, and I don't see significant upside in his game from here on out. I see a significant upgrade in Kyrie's.

I personally think Paul George is overrated as fuck. Good player that we're trying to sell as great.

Similar to Harden, outside that I don't hate how he plays. Harden just plays like a straight up bitch. I don't think Paul does.

Kyrie's ceiling to me is still much higher, but right now I don't disagree, Butler is the better player.

And yet Butler has a rather significantly lower career PER than Kyrie while both having played roughly the same career total minutes.

And one is an all defense level defender and one is a defensive sieve. And PER is essentially a usage dependent star. Jimmy was a stopper while Rose was running the offense when they were playing in the conference finals. That was when Ky was leading the Cavs to some horrific seasons.

Who would I take if I were starting a franchise? Ky and its not close. He is 3 years younger, isn't working on his 3rd straight season in leading the league in min while playing both ends of the floor like few in the league causing the beginnings of chronic knee problems. Noah and Butler's careers appear to be destined to be significantly shorter than their peers after going through the Thibbs grind.

Getting a little annoyed by this. I'll start buying into this "Kyrie upside" angle everybody's spinning when he shows he gives a fuck or two about playing defense.

I'm actually offended by Kyrie's nonchalance on that end, it's that poor. I don't ask that he be on Butler's level defensively, but he needs to stop treating defensive possessions like breaks from getting the ball.

Jimmy's never played in the conference finals. His rookie year was the season after they lost to the Heat in the ECF.

We 100% would be getting that pick. You must be out of your mind if you can't see that.

If we wanted Melo so bad, we would just trade Love to NY, and leave Boston out of it. The reason Boston would even be involved in the trade is because Melo alone is not nearly enough for Love.

Yikes...

Given that this Melo trade has already been killed, I won't bother to engage. Trade override does not exist in real life, I will remind you.

Does anyone else notice on the dunks where Gordon jumps over the mascot that he pushes down on the ball at first before he takes it and it might help him propel up a little like a leapfrog? Still very sick dunks and doesn't take anything away, but I wonder if I'm the only one that notices that.
I just watched the dunk contest and yes he was pushing off of the mascots head clearly. Still awesome dunks though and one of the best competitions ever. Gordon's other two dunks sans mascot were amazing as well.

Is that 2 years in a row someone could have beaten the ASG record and didn't?

I'm a little pissed that PG13 didn't get it, the game was so boring after the first quarter, that at least that would have been something.

After the first quarter? Game was a bore from the tip on. The Three Point and Dunk competitions are where the actual competition is. Far more fun to watch. Just hand out All-League awards and fuck the All Star designation.

What I saw of the game was boring as bat shit. Did not see any defense played, no pressure applied to shooters. Hell, watching under 12's is more interesting than that game.

What did you expect watching an all-star game?
