All-Star Weekend 2012

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
But he's refused to try multiple times before in his career. We already knew, prior to last night, that the man is scared of the last shot. Him being scared in an all-star game gives us what new information exactly that we didn't already have?

Nothing really. I was kind of speaking for myself when saying I was disgusted even more by it than in the past.

Also, what are we arguing? We're in agreement here, it seems.

I'm not really arguing, just trying to get to the bottom of the situation here.

And anyway, for people upset that I said I kind of root for LBJ now, it's because of this. Because he fails soooo much in the clutch when he's so obviously the best player on the floor for the first 47 minutes of every game that I kind of feel bad for the guy now. And since he has seemed to removed his douchiness, all I have left for him is pity.

Yea but I just don't understand we as fans trying to draw some sort of conclusion that because Lebron didn't take the shot LeBron fails when the game is on the line. We know this already, and him taking and making the shot last night would have changed no one's mind, including mine, that he doesn't want the ball when the pressure is greatest.

So if him making the shot means nothing to me, why does him not taking the shot mean something to me?

EDIT: Here is my point. Let's imagine a few months from now the Heat are in the FInals and we are debating vigorously all of the ins and outs of the Finals. I'm sitting here typing that one of the their weaknesses is the fact that LBJ does not come up big when the game is on the line and shrinks in the biggest of moments. To counter this argument, a heat fan says "Well remember that shot he hit in the all-star game!!!" To which I would reply, "so, it was an all-star game."

Sums up my point pretty much. NOTHING that young man does now will be enough, there will always be someone looking to knock what he did.
He has an undebateable record of taking and hitting late shots while in wine and gold....critics....that doesnt matter it was before the decision
He takes, but misses last minute shots in Miami....critics....he doesnt have the clutch gene (whatever the heck that is)
He takes and makes last minute shots vs Boston and Chicago in playoffs....critics....it wasnt the NBA Finals
He disappears in the NBA Finals....critics...see just like i told you he cant get it done
He has bad 4th/OT vs Clippers and G.State...critics.....see Lebron James is only good for 3 quarters
He makes late free throws vs Detroit....critics.....its only Detroit it doesnt matter until the playoffs.
He makes late turnover in the all star game....critics....sure it was a meaningless game, but there he goes choking again

Flash to the future...
He makes that last shot vs LaL next Sunday...critics...regular season doesnt matter...that is unless he missess or doesnt take it then it mattes.
He makes the last shot in the NBA Finals.....critics....well he had to jump on DWade's team to do so, Michael and Kobe would have won the Finals in 3 games, whats James' problem.....yada yada yada yada.

Oh and im not James' i dont care if NONEOFYA like me. I just checked my "joined" date and i been here longer than a lot of you's. Ima call it the way i see it and if you dont like it. ......

I think the other aspect that bugged me is that he made an impossible pass just to get rid of the ball. In the past, he has, for the most part, passed the ball to open players. He's made the right basketball play, which is fine. It gets annoying when Kobe tries to take on three defenders when he's got teammates wide open (he did that last night and airballed).

But this time... up top, 6 seconds left, one-on-one with the defense scrambling... and he chucks the ball to the corner to no one in particular? I mean, my God. Call timeout if you are freaking out that much.

Let me shorten that post for you...

HERE WE GO LEBRON. HERE WE GO. WOOF!! WOOF!!

Here is the problem with your post, Wade didn't have to join forces to win a championship, Kobe won 5 all on the same team, Michael, Bird, Magic, Duncan, and multiple other current and future Legands didn't have to leave there team to win a Championship. These players won with the cards that they were dealt thats why they are greats. They played their careers for one team and made that team great. Lebron had his chance and threw it away, he was becoming a Legand, in fact he didn't need multiple championships to possibly be remembered as the greatest of all time. All he needed was 1 championship with Cleveland and then try his damnedest to win more. Because winning one in Cleveland is more than any Legend could say they have done in the history of the game.

Are we seriously discussing this shit again?! Ugh!

didnt watch any of the all star events this weekend in protest of a ginger being in the dunk contest

Well you didn't miss much.... the skills challenge is a joke, looks like slow motion, a nobody from Utah won the dunk contest, a PF, yeah I said PF won the 3 point contest, and Lebron went off and blew the game in the end. Best thing to come out of it, Kyrie makes 8 of 8 from three and wins MVP and TT lead the Shaqs in points.

Anybody see the InsideTrax videos on NBA.com where the players are mic-ed up? I thought it was cool how Iguodala noticed that Dirk and Kevin Love didn't look at the rim the whole time when shooting. Andre's a good guy, always trying to learn and improve.

D-Rose is not impressed with the whole weekend thing.

Just watched an interview with Rose after his win tonight, and he wouldnt go further than "I can dance, but that wasnt the place. That's just not me."

Translation, I'm not a punk bitch like LeBron James, and if I see his ass in the ECF this year, I'm gonna destroy him.

Respect the hell out of D-Rose, and I'd take him on my team any day.

Hahahahaha DRose would GET destroyed by LeBron, not the other way around.
