Re: Amare Stoudemire

I think I lost hope for all new members when I saw this. Are there people that delusional out there?

Trade ideas for Amare Stoudemire are only good for one thing, torturing yourself. It'll never happen. If it does, I'll be happy and proud to let you say "I told you so" as much as you want to me. In the meantime, I'm done making the case that we won't get Amare. I think history can make a better case than I could.

So my proposed trade of Tarence Kinsey for Kobe straight up will lose me favor in the eyes of the veterans? Okay, I'll hold on to that trade gold for myself then.

Seriously though, trying to rationalize Amare coming to Cleveland is only setting yourself up (I'd even put the 2010 Chris Bosh in that category too). The thing with Pau, KG, and Ray Allen were all freak trades. Surprising that they happened, but not to be expected.

LOL, new members? Check the ego at the door please. I've been registered longer, but because I don't live my life on this board I'm a new member? Please show respect for all members. If you don't like the trade idea, why are you continuing to check in and post in it?

And another 'thanks' to Da James Gang...

Re: Amare Stoudemire

I would love to get Amare, but he would be gone in 2010. Also he plays NO defence. He puts up monster games, then he goes out and puts up a stinker three or four in a row. Guy is not what we need, even though i'd like to get him.

Re: Amare Stoudemire

I would love STAT but at the same time the suns would be stupid to just trade him. Honestly we have a better shot at getting him in 2010 than right now. The suns are a very old team and really have no future other than STAT and JRich. Kerr would have to get really drunk and on some really good Puff Puff for them to even consider dealing Amare let alone trade him to us.

Re: Amare Stoudemire

We aren't getting Amare.
We don't need Amare.
We don't even want Amare.

Some players are just born losers.

Maybe we could get him together with Snoop D o double G:spin:

But as stated, the team would be widdled down to even have a chance of picking up Amare.

Re: Amare Stoudemire

Geez lets keep the fantasy trades to a minimum please.

I think everyone or atleast the majority knows we can't get him. But i think its ridiculous how some people come up with these excuses not to get a guy. We are talking about Amare Stoudemire, not Zach Randolph.

Re: Amare Stoudemire

I can give you more reasons why I wouldn't want him, than want him.

He's a horrible defender(in fact he's a liability). He's has no real post game to speak of at all. Not a very good rebounder at all. You put him against a player like Duncan, he won't rebound the ball.

Amare has developed a nice jumper, can finish around the basket. That's all I really like about him. Sure, he'd play the pick and roll nicely with Lebron. He'd also wouldn't give one bit of physical play, either. He'd want the ball all the time, he wouldn't give any effort on defense.

I can see JJ doing what he can, to a lesser extent maybe. Amare is a good player, that you can't win a championship around. He lacks the proper credentials. He gets schooled year in, and year out by a real post player in Duncan. I can never call Amare great until he becomes more of a completely player.

I think everyone gets schooled by Duncan and how can you assume he'd want the ball all the time if he came here? He has a nice jumper and can finish around the basket, hmm sounds like the type of pf we need. So he can finish around the basket but his post moves are weak? Basically the only thing i agree upon is that he needs to work on his defense, other than that the guy is a monster on offense. And with his athleticism, strength and quickness, i could see him developing into a very strong defensive player on this team under MB's system. Everyone had doubts about Mo, especially his defense. But look how well he has fit in since coming here.

We probably have no shot at him, but if we did there is no way you do not try and trade for the guy.

He's averaging over 20 a game, and the big baby is crying about not getting enough shots. That he's not "da man" in Phoenix. He doesn't have a post game at all. Stoudemire scores on the pick and roll, or the pick and pop. I'm not doubting he'd put up fairly decent numbers offensively. He's a great finisher around the basket and has developed a fairly solid jumper.

No, not everyone gets schooled by Duncan. There's a difference between Duncan playing "better" and getting schooled. Tyson Chandler for instance held his own against Duncan in a playoff series. Amare gets his ass kicked anytime they meet. Yet he wants to be "da man" on a team.

No, I would not try to trade for him. There's more to it than just what a guy brings offensively. Our defensive big men is critical to our success defensively. You bring in someone as clueless as Amare, he sure as hell isn't going to adjust in time for the playoffs. When when we meet against KG, he'll have no answer for him. The Cavs already traded one brain dead player defensively, I don't feel like bringing in another.

Amare makes a lot of mental errors defensively, not a good on ball player in the post. It's much more difficult to get a guy to play better post defense.

Amare will be the one player in 2010 that the team regrets overpaying for.

Either way, they have no shot at him.

Re: Amare Stoudemire

suns need to lose some more then we can talk ya dig

Re: Amare Stoudemire

LeBron with Amare in the high pick and roll would be a nightmare for opposing teams, especially with Mo and West on the floor to help spacing.
