Anthony Davis

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He put together championship team?

Really?

LeBron decided to come back.

We lucked into the first round pick, so we had the ammo to trade for Love.

Kyrie was already here.

Seriously?

He made one solid trade, in getting us Shump and JR. Everything else he did was pretty bad.

We had no room to get better because of his shitty re-signs, and depleting all of our assets.

I just laugh when people think he honestly put a championship team together. When anyone of us could have gotten credit for it.

LeBron coming back, wasn't basically what sealed it, no?
It didn't matter what we re-signed guys for we were going to be over the cap anyway so there was no chance to really improve through free agency. Our assets were depleted getting players like JR, Shump, Frye, Mozgov, Korver etc who actually were valuable pieces to us winning a championship or competing. How quickly people forget...

Sure we overpayed on some deals but thats largely due to every team having us by the balls. We had the best player in the world in his prime in Cleveland we were going to throw everything away to win one and teams knew that. It feels bad now but 4 years ago it was win right now at all cost and that was the right move in my book.

Then all of a sudden the Lakers just threw 2 seasons away. Didn't get AD. And LeBron has an ETO and can be a free agent in the summer of 2021. And you've completely failed. The media at this point will not let them get away with it if it comes to that.

And guess what...the Cavs just so happen to have Zion Williamson, Sexton or equivalent assets, two max slots, another incoming lottery pick and about 8 other first/2nd rounders and probably a big expiring contract to play with.

Okay...sorry..the last part is pure fantasy but everything before that is 100% a serious risk if the Lakers try to wait until 2020. LeBron will be turning 36 that season.

If the Lakers don't go all in and get AD, which they don't seem to be doing with the offers that Woj just reported. Let say they do miss out on AD and another free agent in the summer, does Magic hold to his word and step down? Where does that leave LeBron? Does he ask to be traded or bought out?

Davis is setting things up so nobody will trade for him but the LA? Older LeBron and what’s left after the trade, is it enough for them to compete with GS/Houston?

The way things are, maybe steph demands a trade to Houston next year...

Only thing beating GS is themselves lol

He would if GS leads the Rockets 3-1 in the conference finals and then he chokes away the series.
Wait..no that was KD in OKC, my bad.

I don't buy that AD will go to LA in 2020. I believe he's only saying that in an attempt to force the move now, because you can't tell me with a straight face that Anthony Davis will be chomping at the bit to go team up with 36 year old LeBron.

Whatever contract Davis signs in 2020, LeBron will likely retire before its conclusion. Then what? I have to believe he's not short-sighted enough to put himself in a position to waste even more prime years than he already has/will.

There are, and will be, other young stars to team up with.

Lebrons not gonna retire during his next contract.

I dont think it's just to go to the Lakers but to a team which has a real chance of putting together an elite big 3. Lakers are one of those teams. Knicks are now. I just don't think the Celtics are, which both Kyrie and AD realize. The Celtics could trade for AD but really wouldn't have the ammo for another star and who knows who or when another star will be available too. Hayward isn't going to cut it as a 3rd star or the prime asset to get another.

I think Philly is a dark horse if they can get a package together. If they can find a place to send Butler and get assets to send to the Pelicans, they could still have a max cap slot for another star in the summer.

Man Lakers fans are so delusional. They literally believe that there's an anti-LA bias in the media against them and that ESPN etc is anti Lakers and wants to block them from getting AD.

Dude, the media may as well be f-ing Lakers fans with how much they grovel over anything related to LA. Cant stand Laker fans entitlement. Most of them on their board hate Lebron but just want a championship so they are "willing to root for him reluctantly "

The Lakers should just offer all their possible draft choices in perpetuity, forever, to the Pelicans for AD. So the Pelicans just draft twice or whatever every year. I mean per the Stepien rule they can't trade away firsts in consecutive years, but it could be firsts in every other year forever plus all seconds forever.

Lakers aren’t beating a DSJ/Knox/Top 3pick offer from NYK. Davis on NYK basically guarantees them Kyrie and possibly Durant.

AD sin leaving NYK to play with a 36 year old Lebron in 3 years

I really think with the RealGM post that the Pelicans are going to talk to the lakers means the lakers are getting anthony davis./

Imma need for the Pelicans to wait until summer to trade him since I’m going to the Grizzlies Pelicans game two days after the deadline

Big difference between top-3 pick and #1 pick in this draft. DSJ/Knox/#3 would be a trash offer.

Eh idk RJ Barret and Cam Reddish aren’t far behind Zion. I mean obviously Zion has greater potential (so we think) but who knows.
