Anyone have Google Chromecast?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Ruko, Vizeo...you guys are making my eyes bleed.

Vizeo tv's made since 2012 aren't that bad anymore. They used to be terrible, but nowadays they are making strides at becoming a solid line of television sets.

Yeah I've come to find they are no longer the cheap option.

They're often just as pricey and the quality is top notch.

I have a 47 inch Vizio that has the full led back lighting/smart dimming that honestly has one of the best pictures I've ever seen, especially considering I picked it up cheap as a costco store display.

It's not a pretty design and the 3D on it honestly is terrible (never use it anyway), but it has a phenomenal picture for the price. Too bad they stopped making this model.

That's my point... They dived head first into making LED panels once it became economically viable for the mainstream consumer. You've still got guys going and buying LCD panels from top-tier brands when they could get an LED panel with near true blacks, better color reproduction, and a gang of interfaces for much less.

Gotta be a smart consumer when it comes to spending that kind of bread.

I have an LG SmartTV and it's been a great set. But before that I fucking loved my Pioneer Kuro 101PD, the best TV ever made (before full LEDs got to where they are today). I stuck with plasma until LED caught up, and so it has..

Btw, I love the 3D from the latest LG model sets.. It is VERY impressive. Watching The Hobbit on it is great.. I use (H)SBS-style videos, btw, so you might want to try that on your set -- dunno if you were using the other methods.

I was commenting on the misspelling of brand names...lol.

I agree that the newer Vizio stuff is great, but I remember their first batch of shit that was LOLBad.

Do what I did and build an HTPC. You can make one for cheap if you know what you're doing. I don't pay for cable, I just use the HTPV to stream 720p shows, automatically download as I stream, and store them on the HTPC. Over the last year I've build up my library of TV shows and Movies and I'm almost over 1.5 TB already. I have all of the new seasons of the shows I watch (Walking Dead, Person of Interest, etc) caught up to the premier and I can watch premiere episodes the night of or the next day. I save myself over $1200 a year in cable costs.

7 TBs of just external HDDs full of TV series, cartoon series, and movies. But I just stream them all from my normal PC to my Samsung SmartTV. <3 that Sammy.

Yeah I use torrents for everything to. I have about 70 gig with of music on my laptop. Then I gave a 2tb external hard drive full of movies and tv shows that's almost full.

The only problem that the wii doesn't play high deff or 720p. I can only osu avi or mpk videos. My buddies was telling me he uses this thing called raspberry pi to stream from his pc to laptop. Looks to complicated for me.

Guys what torrent site do you guys use? Right now I'm using kickass torrents. It's good. For new shows, they are usually uploaded the next day.

Also as far as download speeds, my wife and I are going to get 15 mbs. You can get 25 mbs for only 10 bucks more a month. Is there that much of a difference between the two speeds?

Yep. Just started using last week. Convinced me to get Chromecast. Excellent app.

Following Cavs season - I'm cutting cable once and for all. Forever.

Setup moving forward:

Vizio Smart TV + Chromecast + XboxOne (living room)
LG SmartTV + Apple TV (bedroom)
Netflix + Hulu Plus + Aereo (when it finally gets released in Cleveland)
Sharing a watchESPN account with an RCF user so still have access to ESPN anytime
Torrents for HBO and movies will stream to all........
