Actually guys I've heard of a rumor about Eddy Curry, apparently he is insulted by the lowballing that the Chicago Bulls are doing talking about 6 or 8 mill a year deals...I heard they are commited to chandler and duhon and aren't really there with Curry, the rumor has it that anything past 8.5 the bulls are letting him walk. I heard we are willing to extend an offer well beyond 8.5 even around 10 million the rumor says we most likely wont surpass 11 million tops to get Curry then use the mle on Sarunas or AD. I'd really like to do this I like Curry and at Z's age look for production to trickle off and for him to get hurt a little more frequently, plus this solves our center problem for a while being that curry is only 22 years old. And don't say heart problems because he was fully cleared from the whole heart murmur thing, and has already committed to losing weight to remain healthy and more productive and beleive me if we are throwing 10 million at him or more expect lebron to keep currys belly to a minimum. Also my friend had a heart murmur one year and they wouldnt let him try out he sat out the year even though he seemed fine that was in 7th grade i'm now entering 11th and he has had no problems heart related whatsoever, these things are kinda common I rely on his heart as much as Z's feet at his age. Just an inside rumor I've heard even though Ferry is Z's "good friend" LeBron is lobbying hard for Curry and 2 players off of his wishlist will keep him in a wine and gold uni for many years to come, if Ferry wan'ts any career whatsoever he must put friendship aside and worry about the happiness of LeBron James. So look for some Curry rumors now that he is rumbling with the Bulls.

It dont matter how upset he is. He has that RFA next to his name, a heart condition and a lable of being lazy.

He isnt going anywhere, and nobody will anty up to a player with those three things.

Eddy can be mad all he want, he isnt leaving his home town.

A team like Atlanta may offer the big dollars because they are desperate to get a big. They wont win a great deal anyway which would suit Curry down fine. the less pressure for him the better.

Lebron likes Z and lobbied hard for him all of last year. At the end of the year though with all the turmoil though he said he wouldn't say more unless Z asked him. I don't have the link but I clearly remember reading this quote. So Lebron is just being true to his word - I wouldn't read into this Lebron doesn't like Z rumors too much at all

I say bring back Z, sign Saruans and then bring in the best player we can with the remaining space. If there's a fair amount of money say close to the MLE, doubtful but you never know, then we could make a run at Swift, or Rahim. If it's close to three mil I'd call up Dale Davis. Mike Brown knows him so that might give us an in. I think he'd be a good back up for Z and he could even back up Gooden, plus he could probably teach Varejao some things.

22 year old professional athletes should not have heart problems. Z's feet are fine, I think he's proven that the last 3 years. Plus, we need Z to lure in Saraunas, who may come in for 5 mill a year.

The official cap number has yet to be released, so the amount of room the Cavs have left at this point is a little tricky but expect the majority or even all of the money to go to Z and the point guard. The cap number is between 16-18 million, a $12 million a year contract to Z will start around 10 million and Saraunas/Daniels should come in around 5 million. That leaves between 1-3 million (big difference there) for the backup big man, and I have no idea what kind of offers guys like the Ukraine Train or Cliff Robinson are looking at.

I like Cliff Robinson despite him being a Cav killer over the years. But I think his game has detriated to the stage where the more i think of it, the more I really would not want him as our primary backup to Ilgauskas. Dale Davis shown late last year that he can still play some and Potapenko would bring a similar physical presense. We have finesse players in our front court so a banger would a nice compliment to that, so that leans me away from Cliff.

How much would Antonia Daniels probably want? I don't think I've heard of him much, but I heard he's a good pg.

Daniels is looking for around 5 million per year over 5 years. He is a solid combo guard who plays good defense and is a decent shooter. I personally want to commit to him for so many years as he has been an established starter. But if we do miss out on Saruanus, he will be solid pick up.

He will get the MLE from someone. He is the best free agent point guard out there.

Hmm, 25mill/5 yrs... or something like that - I like it -

Ok..

Then I'd like to see us resign Z and sign Daniels.

Still getting my sea legs after Turkey, but I couldn't resist jumping in on the Vitaly bandwagon. Down the road, if there's an extra $1 million or so around, he would be a great backup big for us. He's about as steady as they come--a total team player. He's not quite the offensive rebounder he used to be, but he handles the ball a lot better and shoots better than ever.

With 16 million left over....

Resign Zydrunas Ilgauskas for 6 years 60 million. Make at least the last year and ideally the last two years team option years. This works out to about 8 million in the first year.

That leaves about 8 million left over.

Sign Saurnas Jasikevicius for 3 years 10 million. The first year of Sarunas's contract will be roughly 3 million or so.

With the remaining 5 million, an offer could be thrown Udonis Haslem's way seeing as how LeBron James apparently is making a pitch to management for Haslem. A 5 year 30-odd million dollar deal should do the trick.

Miami can pay haslem 5.5 million - we probably need to top that to sign him. That means swinging a trade to free up cap space or deciding against Jasikevicius. Also, Jasikevicius wants a 3 year, 15 million deal.

I saw that he wanted 15 mil for three years but the only offer I think he's received was from Boston and I believe it was for their 1.6 mil exception, which came out to about 5 mil for 3 years. I don't think the Pacers have made an offer but they already have Tinsley. Considering that we can offer a competition for the PG starting position, 25-30 mins a game even if he's the back up, and hopefully Z I think our chances are pretty good.
