Around the League Games

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That's great news. I guess that's one obstacle out of the way in a possible hellish playoff run. I can't even imagine how drained the Cavs would be if they had to face the Bobcats, Celtics, Magic, and Lakers on their route to the Finals. That's probably the hardest possible route you could take, and it looks like we'll be avoiding both the Beastcats and the Celts (I'm kinda unhappy about this though, I would pay $100 to see Shaq straight floor KG with a hard foul near the basket).

These playoffs seem so much more epic for some reason.

Not to get off the Steve Nash topic (which I pretty much agree with everything you just said), but Charlotte clinched their first ever playoff berth last night. What is their magic number for clinching the seventh seed so they have to face the Magic? Right now, they stand at 42-36, 2 games behind Milwaukee and Miami (both are 44-34), and 4 games ahead of Toronto (38-40).

By my count, if they win at least one of their next four games and Toronto loses at least one, then it is signed, sealed, delivered that they will finish no worse than the seventh seed, which would be excellent news for the Cavs.

ATL and BOS tied at 49-29
_____________________________________________

ATL:

vs. Toronto
@ Washington
@ Milwaukee
vs. Cleveland

Season record: 52-30 #4 seed
_____________________________________________

BOS:

vs. Wizards
@ Milwaukee
@ Chicago
vs. Milwaukee

Season record: 52-30 #3 seed (wins the tiebreaker against ATL)

Expect Boston in the 2nd round...

MIL (44-34):

@ Philladelphia
vs. Boston
Vs. Atlanta
@ Boston

Season record: 45-37

MIA (44-34):

vs Detroit
@ New York
@ Philadelphia
vs New Jersey

Season record: 48-34 - I really do not see them losing any of those games, and they would have to go 1-3 while the Bobcats went 3-1 in order to drop to the #7 (CHA owns the tiebreaker there).

The Bucks win the tiebreaker over the Bobcats, making the Bobcats the #7 seed and also our 1st round opponents... so a miracle 4 game losing slide and a 4 game winning streak (well, 5 including tonight's game) would make the Bucks the #7 seed... probably won't happen.

*The wild-cards: Toronto goes 4-0 WITHOUT BOSH and the Bobcats go 0-4. Since Toronto would win the tiebreaker, they'd move up to the #7 seed and we'd face them. Same goes for Chicago, however I already see them losing to the Cavs tomorrow, lol...

Boston getting beat 52-31 at half by the Wizards....They were getting be 45-19 at one point in the game

Terrence Williams 1 assist away from a triple double... and by looking at his game log it's not the first time he has been close.

The Bulls are losing to the Nets in the 2nd overtime. Amazing.

I honestly don't believe Boston wants the third seed. Atlanta does want it. I think Boston thinks they have a better shot at the Cavs than with Orlando. Boston may get what they wish for, but will lose to the Heat in the first round. :chuckles:

Martell Webster is pretty much my dream SG next to LeBron.

I'm so happy that out of ALL the seed-deciding games tonight, ESPN puts on the Thunder game when they have the 8 seed locked up. Instead of airing a game that actually matters, like Bucks/Celtics, Spurs/Mavs, Heat/Nets, Knicks/Raptors, or Bulls/Bobcats....they air one of the least important games of the night. This is cool.

Those ESPN/TNT/ABC games are scheduled waaaaaaaaay ahead of time and it's tough to change them in short notice. Do you honestly think TNT/ESPN would've kept showing those Hornets games while CP3 was out if they could change them that quickly?

Haha yeah I know, still doesn't make it any less frustrating though:)

I wonder how difficult it would be for the NBA to follow the NFL and implement flex scheduling for the final ~month of the regular season. It would take some schedule re-working for televised games earlier in the season and whatnot, so teams like LA and Cleveland might not play on national TV as much earlier on so other teams could still get their televised games. I dunno how early the camera/tv crews get to the location, but it can't be more than a day or two so the idea seems like it has potential.

I <3 the last day of the regular season. All 11 of the early games are at halftime.

Bulls up 14 at halftime. It's looking like Chicago, fellas. Toronto up by 9 but it may not matter.
