Baker Mayfield: Fire The Cannons

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Rosen feels a lot like Goff.

Rosen is so immobile though that I’m not sure it’s going to work great in the NFL. Game is changing and he is an absolute statue.

I just want to know where all of the Rosen supporters who were on this forum went. They’re practically disappeared from all threads of these forums. They were hell bent on Rosen being ‘THE GUY’ and I would have believed any person here betting their house on him succeeding.

It was like there was a hidden agenda we weren’t aware of that brought a bunch of Rosen supporters together....hmmm..

So sad.

I was a Rosen guy, to early to write him off at this point, but yes he looks bad right now.

I was for either Rosen or Darnold. Whichever would be the "QB I could set my watch to".

I also was interested in Lamar Jackson. I liked Baker as a player and the idea of him intrigued me, but I didn't want to see him with the Browns.

What a stupid post

I was a big Rosen guy. Then we drafted Mayfield. And for a while I was bummed. Then Mayfield played well for my favorite team and I don’t give a shit about the Cardinals. I moved on buddy boy, maybe you should too

So why do you want people posting about Rosen again? Because you’re foolish enough to call it a career after a few starts on one of the worst teams in the NFL? Like you didn’t see one of the premier QBs in the NFL Goff have a dogshit rookie year just 2 years ago (you probably had similar posts about Goff then too, wonder why you stopped talking about that, whoops!)

Rosen isn't absolved of blame, but Arizona's offense and playcalling is miserable right now. Mike McCoy might not make it to November.

Nah, I kind of get where he's coming from. People who wanted someone other than Rosen were often made to feel like an idiot for thinking so, at least that is how I remember it.

Water under the bridge at this point, of course.

Lot to unpack here.

There were definitely quite a few of us who preferred Rosen over Darnold. We're still here posting about the Browns.

Rosen has started what, 4 games? Seems incredibly early to make this type of post. The book is still out on all of these guys, Mayfield less than others.

Most of "Us" have already said they're happy to be eating the appetizer dish of Mayfield crow. He's looked better than we could have realistically expected! That's a good thing! A lot of us thought he was less desirable than Rosen and/or Darnold (some even Allen - lol). Most if not all of us have come out and said we look to have been totally wrong, so where have you specifically been?

I guess I'm confused what you're looking for. Do you want people on a Browns forum to continue to fight a battle on behalf of a guy the team didn't draft? Do you want people to not have draft opinions at all during the off-season?

Seems both premature and unnecessary.

This.

And not throwing anything at AZ, but when he bulldozes a player in the "_____ Draft Prospects Thread" or in here (which he is pretty damn accurate most of the time and give him props), people tend to lean hard on that player more than Fat Joe.

I was the same as Moz. I wanted Darnold. I was fine with Darnold or Rosen. When Baker got picked, wasn't necessarily thrilled, but he came out and a) said the right things, b) performed when it mattered, and c) is not doing dumb shit off the field.

So, I of course backed him because he is on my favorite team and it looks like we may finally have our FQB.

So I agree with 77 partly, but also it doesn't matter. Move on from the Rosen/Darnold/Baker/any QB bickering and lets enjoy what we got. This is a forum so there is the banter - but as Chris said - water under the bridge.

Mayfield will always be compared to Rosen/Darnold/Allen/Jackson because that is the class he was drafted in. It’s inevitable this kind of talk will be around.

But yes, the point of 77’s post is to point out the groupthink... once again.

Here I am! I also live in Phoenix, so getting the only two guys I wanted to the two teams I follow was really great. I’m guessing you’ve only seen this game? Let me break it down for you.

Mike McCoy is going to get fired. He has an elite RB with absolutely no creativity to get him the ball. Because they have no run game, Rosen is routinely required to pick up 3rd and 7 plus. The offensive line is awful. Idk the PFF ranking, but on eye test? It’s bad.

Despite all this, Rosen’s arm is exactly as advertised. There are some throws that are just incredible. I, being a Rosen mark, went to his first start. Loss to Seattle, last second field goal. He had a beautiful ball where the receiver didn’t get two feet in. Was in between three defenders, only gave his receiver the chance. He also had two deep balls (50 plus) that were dropped. And not like the Baker balls from the Chargers game. The guys were alone, and it was in stride.

Rosen isn’t the issue. His arm is exactly as advertised. Someone mentioned Goff (my favorite QB prospect in like 5-10 years). He’s not that level. But he’s really good, and last night was his welcome to the NFL game.

Cards fucking blow, and I’m afraid they’re going to Tim Couch him.

Yep.

For me, at least, as long as Mayfield turns out good- even if he isn't OMG HALL OF FUCKIN FAMER level of good, no matter what the other guys turn into I won't roast the pick. I'll be content.

R U mad?
Too bad, so sad.:nud:

Im so Happy we didn't pick up Rosen, he never looks into, after the 2 first quarter picks didn't even attempt to really be apart of trying to stop the defender. Yes, I know a quarterback blah blah, but I know damn sure Mayfield is doing everything he can trying to make the tackle. Also, seeing him walk of the field after calling a time out yelling and just in a trance, walks past a coach trying to talk to him. dude is a douchebag. Starting to see those "character issues". Then you got Mayfield hyping his team, not looking beat, giving his heart and soul. Just complete opposite spectrums.

I didn’t know 77 was still around after making numerous bets about him leaving the board over the success of Johnny Manziel.

Or long winded rants about how he’s done being a fan because (insert dumb thing here).
