Baker Mayfield: Fire The Cannons

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

It's so funny when you read every comment saying "and Sam Darnold"

Ok so Cowherd likes Mayfield better than Newton. Unclear where mayfield is compared to backwards hat QBs Matthew Stafford and Jay Cutler.

If Baker never improved and played at this level the next 10 years, I would be extremely happy and 100% content with the drafting of him #1 overall. The fact that he is doing this as a rookie is so encouraging. I can't imagine how upset we would all be right now if we took anyone other than Baker at #1.

Still has a chance, albeit a slim one, to set the NFL single season record for touchdown passes by a rookie.

Needs 8 over the final three games to break it.

Weekly Baker/Rosen comp. At 5:08 on Sunday.

Bake: 18-22 82% 238yds 1td.

Rosen: 1-5 20% 17yds 0td.

This is incredibly misleading.....

.....Rosen hasn’t had enough time to throw 3 picks yet.

What's funny is I wanted Darnold or Rosen because I felt they were QB's you could "Set your watch to"

That if Tyrod got hurt? We weren't going to see this whole thing get even worse and we could at least whether the storm.

This is more of a question of whom you want "now" but there's no question one feels better with Mayfield leading an NFL team than the other two.

A few years from now? May change. But right now...yeah.

It would take some pretty monumental improvement from either Darnold or Rosen to be even remotely as good as Mayfield has been. Even before the coaching change he was way ahead of either guy, and he's been significantly better since.

Was the best QB in the draft.

Thank god we took him.

Watching the Eagles this year there is no way I'd trade Mayfield for Wentz at this point. Wentz is showing that last year's performance was probably a fluke, which makes sense given that his turnover rate was absolutely unsustainable.
