Baker Mayfield: Fire The Cannons

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That video everyone thought was funny where Kevin Hart was playing up being afraid of completely non frightening animals on somebody’s talk show, probably Fallon, was cringe city. He was also stealing Steve Irwin’s kid’s thunder.

Apparently he’s a good guy and does charity work or something.

@David. He’s a little doughy. He’s a Baker after all....

@Lee

I am not a huge Kevin Hart fan, but his brand of humor is not edgy enough for me.

As for you joke, wow, that joke is horrible even by my Dad Joke standards.

It’s middle of the pack by your standards.

I'm watching an interview show with Christian Kirksey on FS1.

He said Baker is so competitive that he gets in fights with him, various defensive players during PRACTICE. But they respect him quite a bit for having that sort of "fight" in him.

He was stunned a rookie had that much drive in him in that realm.

Also he got him to face time into the show.

I can't put into words about how happy the Browns having Baker makes me. I can only hope the hype train continues.
(Also because I can see the Steelers nose diving into Suckville and the Ravens following not too far behind.)

Hell yes. I won't lie, had a man crush on the dude the second he said " Fuck you" and grabbed his sack. I mean, c'mon. Dude doesn't give a F and backs it up. Now, he is ours!!! He is also pretty good.

My Baker love moment was when he got hit helmet to helmet in the Bucs game:

“ I felt it, but I got up and let the guy know he’s going to have to hit me a lot harder than that if he wants to affect me.”

I have made the argument before on Jordan and Phil Jackson. It has some validity to it. The issue is with Brady there isn't a player in the history of the game that comes close to what he has done with 6. Bradshaw has 4 on the backs of his defense, and Montana was great, but a bit over rated at times to me with historic positional players and defensive talent at almost every position.

With Jordan you have Magic with 5, Kareem with 5 and more dominate in his early ring with the Bucks, and then Lebron with insane numbers and 9 appearances.

I just don't see any argument for Brady to not be the GOAT

This is exactly why the NFL 100 commercial was dumb. Nobody (including the NFL) acknowledges what happened before the Super Bowl. Otto has 7 and made 10 straight ships. The competition was shit, but so is Brady’s division.

I should say I don’t think Otto is better then Tom, but to say it’s never been done is false.

Also Baker will get 10

Problem is Otto played when there were like 10 teams, and 4 of his championships were not in the NFL, really not the same.

And Tom is playing Miami, Buffalo and NYJ’s 6/16 games a year. That’s 6 free wins almost every year. They’re also deflating balls, stealing signs, and whatever the fuck else they do and just haven’t gotten caught.

It’s plain ignoring history, does the NBA ignore what wilt did because the competition was shit? Does baseball ignore Ruth or any other past legend? The answers are no.

Let’s be honest too, when they did play the NFL in their first year, they whooped their asses. Then as the legend says they didn’t even throw the ball in a championship game to prove a point and won.

Baker Mayfield body sucks, I don't want him anymore

Just fine.

Just short.

I have a 6-0 feet and over rule and he just makes it.

It's unique in sports. Nobody ignores Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig or any of the other early greats.

The only exception is Jim Brown. Otherwise the NFL criminally underplays it's pre-Super Bowl era.

As far as the AAFC is concerned -- the Browns drew better than ANY other team in the AAFC OR NFL. The AAFC owners had more money and great players, but they didn't have a draft so Paul Brown sucked up tons of talent. The NFL made fun of the AAFC and then got CRUSHED in the REAL first "Super Bowl" between the Browns and Eagles in 1950 (defending champs).

Otto played 10 years, 10 championship games, 7 championships. That team is the ONLY team in NFL history to play in the NFL championship game SIX years in a row. Oh, and Otto won a pro basketball championship as well.

Plus Cleveland won the NFL the year directly before the Browns' run -- 1945 Cleveland Rams. They pulled a LeBron and went to LA and took Bob Waterfield and his wife with them. Lou Groza then beat their west coast asses in Cleveland Stadium in the Browns first year in the NFL with a 16 yard FG to win it with 28 seconds left.

Waterfield's wife:

This is an attitude much needed in the city's sports. There's just something about Baker (probably breaking the rookie TD passing record) that makes me feel that he's not a whiff like so many other false hopes (since I've moved here: Charlie Frye, Brady "Dublin Dillweed" Quinn, Derek Anderson (LOL), Johnny 8-Ball...)

It’s probably that he is actually.... good at football.

That’s why he’s not a whiff like those other snowflakes. Don’t overthink it.
