Beer snob thread!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Man, I had to walk away from craft beer for the last few months, but reading this thread is pulling me back in. Stopped at my local spot last night (Wine Spot in Cleveland Hts.) and they had a Black Note Stout sitting on the counter. Was never able to track these down in past years, but looks like a bunch hit the stores around here. Grabbed that, a 120 Minute IPA and World Wide Stout, so I've got a good amount of big beers to tackle this weekend.

In terms of trading, I've only done 4-5 in BeerAdvocate in the past. My best route was finding someone on the west coast that had wants of mine (Pliny, Russian River, etc.). I'd send a MidWest starter pack and they'd do the same. Good way to build a relationship with the trader and you could go from there.

I know I've been resisting, but I'm sure I'll end up in line on Black Friday for BCBS.

Kevinoc0 on Untappd btw.

Added you @kevinoc0

I just grabbed a 4pk of Black Note this week as well. It went fast but there definitely seemed to be a lot more that hit distro in this area than years past. Don't know if Cleveland area gets Odd Side Ales but Hazels Nuts and Bourbon Barrel Imperial Mayan Mocha Stout hit here last week. Both are very good stouts, and there's still a good amount available at most bottle shops.

@Soda @TheLand1287 Added both of you. @Soda if you're in Cleveland, I'll actually be up there for a day or two next week. I can bring you some Iris or Grist if you'd like, let me know. @TheLand1287 I see you're in Toledo, so we can do a trade by mail after Thanksgiving if you're interested.

Sounds good. Let me know whatever you're interested in. I don't know if you've had any Hoof Hearted IPAs, but I go to or have a mule most of their releases. Also can get Jackie O's, Great Lakes, Fatheads, etc... whatever you're into.

I've never had Hoof Hearted actually. Would like to get them a try. We will arrange something after the holiday for sure!

Good luck with the 120 IPA. Tried it in the height of my drinking days and still helped knock me on my ass

So Deschutes recently started distributing here. I've ordered their beers online in the past and had them shipped here, but could never just buy them at the store. Got a sixer of Fresh Squeezed IPA. Shit's delicious.

Also had Oskar Blues Bourbon Barrel Aged Ten Fidy. So good. That stuff pours like motor oil. It's also like 13% alcohol content (up from the obvious 10.5% of the normal Ten Fidy). Definitely one of my favorite stouts. If it's available where you guys are, I'd highly recommend grabbing a can.

BBA Ten Fidy is a fantastic beer, and not an easy one to find, at least around here

Just had myself my first Nosferatu of the year. Little late, but I think this is my favorite Great Lakes seasonal beer. Love how it's equal parts imperial IPA and red ale. Very unique flavor, and it has a kind of coppery aftertaste that goes perfectly with the name.

Christmas Ale gets all the hype, and is my favorite Christmas Ale for the style, but Nosferatu and Blackout Stout are my favorite GLBC seasonals. Lake Erie Monster was up there too at one time, but these NE style, hazy IPAs have somewhat ruined all other IPAs for me.

Speaking of, had a really great New England style IPA from Mikkeller yesterday. I think it was called Freddy Murkury.

Had my first few Holly Jollys of the season on Saturday. I honestly like it the best over Christmas Ale and 12 Dogs. Fireside Chat is also the shit

@Soda @TheLand1287 You guys head out this morning? Was up early so I headed over to downtown Heinens. Grabbed BCBS, 1 Northwoods, and 1 coffee. Was only in line for about 20 minutes, was surprised at how much they had there.

Grabbed some Sleeman's Honey Brown on the way back from Canada last month. Savoring every single one. Also got some Alexander Keiths, but they just dont taste as good as they used to IMO.

If you guys ever need anything from Cbus, we can talk.

I met up with TheLand one time to deliver some goods
